This grater is amazing. If you look closely at it, you can see that the grates are shaped a little differently than a typical grater. That is because this grater is BETTER than other graters. It effortlessly turns garlic and ginger into almost a paste yet also works just fine on Parmesan (quickly turns it into a fluffy pile of grated cheese). I also appreciate that its long enough for comfortably grating by hand (don't have to do a bunch of short passes). The rubber base is a nice tough as well. The only fault I can find with it is that the handle looks like it might hold on to water after putting it in the dishwasher. I tend to hand wash everything so I haven't investigated this further and it's super fast to clean by hand anyways.

This is a fabulous sister. The rubber base keeps it from sliding around on the counter and it has a white face so you can handle quite a bit at once. Comfortable to hold too.

Bought two of these, one for zest and one for cheese. Love them both. The rubber rest makes grating much easier.

Great quality microplane. Love the metal frame and rubber foot - much better design than the plastic frames which tend to crack over time.
