208 Fryar Design LTD Berkley Magazine Rack Lamp

I love this table but did not enjoy assembling it at all. I had read the reviews that said you need two people to assemble, so I was prepared for that. They aren't kidding!! But on top of that, when it came time to thread the cord through the hole in the table, the clamp would not separate and we ended up having to jam the cord through the hole. Luckily, the minor amount of damage we caused doing that, was hidden by the pole. Also, on the metal dividers on the magazine rack, the holes were simply not aligned properly. We didn't drill a new hole, but just left that one bracket unscrewed. It's hidden and doesn't move anyway. But now that it's put together, it looks nice and is very convenient.

It took one full Sunday to assemble this table and it is definitely not a one person job. The tool to screw the screws in was ineffective and I stripped the tops of two of the screws. After two trips to hardware stores to find the correct size replacement screws, two of the screws under the bottom platform still wouldn't go in all the way. One screw on the top isn't seated all the way in either. I wanted the three-way light and the space under the table (I didn't put the middle divider bars in), so this table works in those respects and it's sturdier than the old table I had, but be prepared to beFRUSTRATED putting it together.

My 88 year-old mother needed a chair-side floor-style table lamp but doesn't want to acquire things or spend a lot of money. This is a convenient compromise. It looks nice too. Except that the poles in the magazine rack do not line up with the holes. Having read previous reviews, I knew that was a possibility. We put it together and left it like that, deciding not to re-drill holes. She's had it now for three weeks and she loves it. The lamp and table are at a great height, and the magazine rack is convenient. It sits between 2 arm-chairs and the color is great.

Now that this table is finished, I like it, but it was a bear to assemble. Took 2 people plus a drill. a saw, a strap and glue to correct the mistakes in pre-assembly construction. Also I didn't notice the center divider underneath that creates a magazine rack. I wanted to put a basket down there so we removed the center bar and it seems very stable without it. All in all, I'd say if you want this light, be sure to have a handy helper for assembly!

Don't waste your time. I read the reviews and was prepared for it to be challenging to asssemble and it was. Holes that don't line up correctly and screws that cannot be screwed into place because of poor threading of the nuts used to manufacture the metal parts. But finally after bending things slightly to fit into holes and retapping nuts so screws fit the base was done and I figured that the lamp part was a cinch. The lamp assembly is all strung together and requires you only to screw on the arm that has the bulb socket on it to the pole and mount the upright pole to the base. The problem is the arm that the bulb socket is on was apparently assembled incorrectly during the manufacturing process making the bulb socket hang upside down instead of pointing up rendering it useless.I am going to try to contact the distributor who lists their phone number on the assembly instructions and see if I can get a replacement part. If not I will need to return it to the company I purchased it from through Amazon. Will update review as soon as I get some resolution to my problem.

Nice table, but definitely believe the comments that it is difficult to put together. The wrench included to put the table together is very cumbersome to work with since it is so small and has many turns to make. Two people help put it together, but you can do by yourself, approx one hour to get it together and the shade too. The overall product is nice, but have patience.

I love this lamp so much.I found it a bit tricky to put together, and I did scratch some of the wood in the process of assembling the magazine rack to the bottom panel. I would say it's a 2-person job for sure. But the end result is lovely.

Seems sturdy. Difficult time reaching the Allen screws. Regular screws would have made it much easier. Directions were okay, noticed that there were holes missing on the table that required screws based on instructions. Table went together fine regardless of the missing holes.
