Q: does this work on firearms such as rifles

I'm sure it would, but it leaves a waxy residue.

Q: What happens when applied surface gets hot (350F), does it melt, liquefy/burn off, or solidify/leave a crust?

This product acts essentially as a paraffin wax after it dries. Therefore, it will “melt” at higher temps, but it is more durable than oil coatings. I would suggest if your product is typically exposed to temps above 100 degrees, a paint or powder coat would be more appropriate.

Q: Description lists 'liquid volume 16 fluid ounces', but is only 10oz?

The can I received was the 10oz. FYI don't leave the produce in a hot area or it will ooz out of the can and make a mess. Good stuff otherwise. I've been using the CRC Marine grade lately and it works great also.
