Cedar Grove Red Metallic Stainless Steel Kitchen Compost Bin, 1.3 Gallon, with Charcoal Filter Lid

I have recently started a compost bin and needed an easy way to bring the kitchen scraps out to the bin. I also wanted something that would look nice sitting on the kitchen counter and wouldn't obviously scream "I'm full of food bits". The red of this looks really nice with the other red accents in my kitchen and it is a nice metallic. It is also a really good size slim so that it doesn't take up too much counter space and taller than I was expecting. We are a family of four and I usually end up dumping this once a week. I have had it almost two months now and have not had any problems with odors but I also do not plan to spend money on replacement filters so hopefully the smells will stay contained as the filter gets older. I have not used the bags that came with the bin but plan to save them in case I have a particularly messy item that needs to go down to the bin. They are biodegradable so they can go right into the bin as well which is nice.I ordered from the warehouse deals so the bin came with a few scratch marks but I imagine those would happen over time anyway and they are not very noticeable against the metallic red. The lid fits down nice and tight too but not so tight that you can't open it with just one hand. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

I've been happy with it so far, but now that I've had it a couple months I'm annoyed that I can't find replacement filters that fit this. Should have bought one that has filters easily available, but no, I had to have that color :(

I love the color and the size. If I had a con is that the compostable bags are too big and hang over the edges a lot. I had to kind of tuck them in. It is a compost bucket and looks far better than the green plasitc on I used to have. Re-modeled kitchen I needed a new compost container. This fit the bill exactly. Even my husband likes it.

This cannister is gorgeous! It doesn't look like a "trash" container, but like a stylish part of the crockery on my counter. The finish is lovely and the pieces all fit perfectly. The carbon filter is awwwesome and works like a charm. I'm not really impressed by the compostable bags (they leak if left very long), but I bought other recyclable bags to go with it and they work like a charm. Major thumbs up!

I've had this a while now and I must say, it does better than anything else I've had for keeping down the smell and the flies. Oh, and it looks pretty!

Returned this. The coating, while a gorgeous color, is MUCH too easily marked. I ordered from the Amazon warehouse as I have gotten some great deals, but this looked like I had been using it for a number of years.

Stinky stinky stinky. It is now used to hold my plastic shopping bags.
