Very good mixer for the price
I had an Imer and have one from Husky. The Husky is an exact model for less than ½ the listed Imer price. Very nice set up but there are some issues. One is it's a little high so lifting 80# or even 60# concrete mix requires more effort. Its also top heavy so be careful not to drop it. And once dropped the barrel will deform so the mouth will look like an ellipse rather than a circle since it's made of thin mild steel. No problem, it could be bend back to a circle with a hydraulic ramp. Even when I have it at the edge of the form, a little of the mix will be dumped outside of the form and ended up next to the wheels. The knock down feature is a very nice but its hard to separate the barrel from the shaft since some of the concrete dust will get in the mating surfaces (by design) and act like an epoxy bond. You need another person or some type of breaker bar to wedge the barrel out even after lubing it with grease. Be aware, as with all mixers, the 5 cu. ft. rating is for dry material only. Mixing concrete should not be much over two 80# bags or three 60# bags, which is way under the dry volume specification. The good thing is you couldn't get a better mixer for the money. I also have the Red Lion mixer for a number of years and this mixer beat it by far. Easy to roll around, breakdown nicely (after struggling with the barrel as noted above), relatively quiet, and the motor will run forever. So far I've poured 15 yards of concrete with this mixer and I have 15 more to go for one project.

Broken switch mechanism out of the box
Switch is broken out of the box, not what I would expect from a top-of-the-line piece of equipment. Kinda bummed.

Imer Minuteman II Mixer- Quiet and powerful
I bought my Imer Minuteman II mixer to use to tumble cartridge brass in bulk. I removed the two mixer paddles and installed a couple of Harbor Freight 90-lb round magnets in the lower bolt holes. I added a piece of 1.5" x 1.5" perforated steel angle 10" long in the lower side of the drum (the flat part under the seam) to give a little agitation.I load 15 gallons of crushed walnut shell media and between 5-8 gallons of brass. In 3-4 hours I have sparkly clean brass. The motor and gearbox is not noisy like the Harbor Freight mixers I used to have. When loaded and running on my porch it is about as noisy as a clothes dryer. The direct drive system is far superior to the Chinese ones at Harbor Freight. The motor is totally enclosed fan cooled and has an on/off switch built into the motor case, with a safety relay so if it is unplugged it won't start up again when you plug it back in, until you hit Start. It is a bit top heavy and once loaded you can't move it. But it seems stable and I let it run and run when I put it to work and it doesn't get hot or show any signs of strain. It knocks down for storage by myself and takes up less room than I thought it would.I'm glad I bought this one and not the Red Lion piece of junk I saw, or another Harbor Freight.Price is kind of high, but they say buy quality and only cry once. You can also sometimes find them used- mine was like new, for 1/3 the price from a guy who wanted his garage space back after only using it once to mix grout for a backsplash.

Easily the most simple and cost effective mixer out there
Im a masonry contractor owned this mixer for 10 years and have mixed yards of concrete and mortar. Easily the most simple and cost effective mixer out there. After 10 years it is still cranking out the mud. The barrel is bent and rusty and it is harder to clean. Eventually we will replace with a new one. Well worth the price.

Best mixer in class
I've had several big box store standing mixers and the is definitely worth spending the extra money. I'm a contractor and I have the men load the mixer until you can't fit any more mix in and by the time they throw the last shovel in the mix is done. Other mixers also struggle at that point but this mixer never slows or groans from the weight the gears are a huge improvement over other brands direct drive assemblies. Spend the extra money and you won't regret it.

Fantastic mixer, paid for itself in one job!
I love mine.I bought this for small/medium concrete jobs around my house. Because of the shape of my lot, the only way to get concrete in the back yard is either to mix it in place of have it pumped. Well it cost nearly $500 just to have the pumper guy show up so I saved enough on the pumper to pay for the mixer on the first job. Being able to schedule the work for my own convenience was a bonus. This thing will mix up to 3 of the 60# bags of concrete no problem. With one person running the mixer and another placing concrete, you can keep a pretty much continuous flow of concrete to the job. Mixing and placing a yard of concrete is a 2-3 hour job for out of shape middle aged homeowners. I've run about 250 bags of concrete through mine and it still runs fine. When I'm not using it, it breaks down and stores out of the way in the garden shed.

Best mixer for the money
Ive used these mixers at work and at home for 3+ years. The first one I used daily on a jobsite, mixing cement for building rockwalls. You simply cannot overload this mixer! It lasted for over 2 years and finally the barrel wore too thin and began to leak.Unfortunately, the replacement didn't last very long. It fell over while mixing and bent the motor shaft. So I attached the new barrel to the old mixer and used it on and off for another 2 years. Finally the seals gave out and water got into the housing. I'm getting my third now. I hope they are still manufactured with the same quality. If not I'll amend this reveiw. Just make sure the mixer is on stable ground as it wobbles a bit with a full load.
