I like it, but wish I had more time to be a perfectionist with it.
My first time painting a stencil and I’m sure all of my issues were because I’m a novice.Everytime I moved the stencil to do a new section, I smeared wet paint I didn’t see on the back of my stencil. I had originally planned to hang a wall mounted art light to show off my paint, but decided against because of all the imperfections.Next time: I would definitely stick to similar shaded colors (to conceal mistakes, smears, etc.)I would also consider doing the same color with deferent sheens (flat on wall and using glossy for the stencil for a very subdued look that could play off light)In my picture: I mixed one part Alabaster (SW) and one part Pearl for the wall. The stencil was Rare Gray (SW) which has green undertones. I used leftover gold spray paint and sprayed some into an old cup. Using one of my kid’s water color paint brushes, I colored the dots at the base of each palm in the pattern.

Worth the hassle
I love this stencil design! I still do despite the trouble and frustration. The paint coagulates in the tiny details like the stems after each use which means that you either have to clean it after each use or risk a producing a product that is missing details. Initially, I chose to redo the imprints but that made a mess that was often unrecoverable. Midway through the way I realized that instead if redoing each imprint i just needed to take 40 minutes to let the stencil dry before removing the old paint so that the inprint could be crisp. Lots of mistakes and redos but it turned out nicely. I also think the metallic gold was part of the problem but the bigger the contrasting the colors the better it looks

Happy with the outcome but would have done it differently if I could redo it
Overall I'm happy with how this turned out, but it certainly wasn't easy. I purchased the adhesive spray to help and there is 0 chance I could have done this without it. If I could do it over I'd have started at the very top left and worked my way across then down. I started at the bottom and that made the top very difficult. I ended up cutting the stencil but then had trouble lining it up in some parts...So the finished product certainly isn't perfect, but the average person isn't going to spend a lot of time looking at this wall (it's my entryway) so I'm not splitting hairs over it. It was significantly cheaper than if I would have wallpapered. For reference my walls are repose gray (flat) and I mixed my bright white SW trim paint with a creamy yellowish white SW paint (can't remember the name) to get the color. The sheen of the ferns off the flat gray paint looks really nice in the light. It gives it dimension. I would buy again, was a crazy little project :)

Love it!!
First time using a stencil so I have nothing to compare it to but I love it and love how it turned out! The stencil is large which is great to cover more area however sometimes can be a little hard to line up if you’re doing this by yourself.I tried to use tacky spray based on previous reviews but it actually made it more difficult and found painters tape worked great to keep it in place.I used a 4inch roller (suggest getting one made for semi rough surfaces) and once I realized that you should do as little paint on the roller as possible (rolled out on a paper towel first) they started coming out great!Cut into smaller stencils for edges and corners and am obsessed with the result of how it came out!

Challenging to Use
Difficult to use and forget buying this if you are a perfectionist. My overall result is pretty good BUT it took me a full month of using the stencil on nights and weekends to complete a small powder bathroom, one full weekend and week being used for touch-ups where the stencil leaked. I would absolutely never do this again, even though I love the final look. I'll pay for wallpaper next time. For reference, I'm a professional artist in my spare time so I'm typically pretty good with painting.

Beautiful pattern...but it's a pain if you have textured walls.
I really love this design and it's looking good but it is definitely going to take some fine-tuning and going over. I tried to use gorilla glue spray adhesive at the beginning. Thinking it would be stronger if I sprayed the back of the stencil and let it dry until it was tacky. But that was a complete bust. If you're going to do this, you have got to buy aleenes original tacky spray. That stuff is an absolute game changer. It helps so much.

First Stencil Project - Patience!
5 stars for the stencil. It held up to adhesive spray, washing/scrubbing, and being relocated across a wall.Lessons learned from a 1st time stenciler (after 2 failed attempts) - Use at least a medium tack adhesive spray so you're not battling a wobbly stencil, put the smallest amount of paint on a stiff foam roller, and have something to distract you while you wait for the paint to dry before you move the stencil. Good luck!
