Installed very easily, but that’s where I ran into a problem
Bought the pull up bar a month or so ago. Very well designed and solid piece of equipment. Installed very easily, but that’s where I ran into a problem. I intended to install the bar on an iBeam that had a drop ceiling, and even after removing the drop ceiling tiles around the iBeam, the bar would still be too close to the drop ceiling frame. Would need to remove the entire framework of the ceiling to make the pull-up-bar usable…not just one tile, as I wanted to. Not a fault of the product, entirely my bad in not measuring before I placed the order. I recalled seeing another version of the product that had a 6 inch extension that would bring the bar lower……which, in hindsight, what I should have ordered. I called First Law Fitness sales number, and Jeff quickly solved my problem. He offered to ship the 6 inch extension brackets (rest is the same). I fully expected to pay the extra cost for the extension and the shipping. Jeff promptly sent it across at no cost. The extension is installed now. As mentioned earlier, very well built piece of equipment. It is heavy and feels like something that would last forever. Can’t say enough about the excellent customer service. Thanks!!

5 Star pull-up bar for sure!
After purchasing and returning multiple pull-up bars from other companies, the Firstlaw pull-up bar meets my needs perfectly! I found this pull-up bar to be the easiest to install (15 min), best built, most secure, and made from highest quality material far surpassing the other 3 pull-up bars I tried. The second I picked up the box, I could feel the weight of the high gage steal. After opening the carefully wrapped equipment, I was extremely impressed by the build quality and knew I finally found what I was looking for. When I jumped onto, hung from, or pulled-up, everything feels safe and secure. With only six bolts, it does feel as if it were welded to the I-Beam. At no time did I feel my hands were going to slip from the grips, even with sweat on my hands. The distance between the foam grips is a perfect, making it easy to do a variety of pull up variations. I highly recommend this rock solid pull-up bar!

Good equipment - minor issues for me
It is very sturdy and well-made! My only problem is the pull-up grips on the bar are a little wide for me (for a normal shoulder width grip). The cross support bars are right about where I would want to put my hands. I am a 5’7” female. I chose the model with the padded grips, since I didn’t plan on doing any kipping/swinging moves on it & it would save my hands. However, the pads increase the diameter of the bar a decent amount and makes it a little difficult for smaller hands to grip. Knowing this, I would’ve ordered the tape grip bar and just used hand grips, if needed.

Fits next to pipes, works great!
Works great - very solid. I was able to install it despite the large pipes running parallel to my I-beam. The pull up bar is flexible enough in its positioning that I could pull the handles clear of the pipes without it being unbalanced. Installation notes: it really does just “screw” into place. Assemble it on the floor and lift it up, then bring the two mounting bracket halves together and into position on the I-beam. We used a 9/16” ratcheting wrench to tighten the bolts and just an adjustable crescent wrench for the hex bolts on top of the wide grip bar. It was definitely helpful to have two people for the install.

Good quality and adjustability for plates is top notch
Three hanging positions are helpful. My young boys (5 and 7) started doing hangs too. The grips are good. Adjustability was appropriate and it seems like it will last me a lifetime.

Expensive but worth it
I was in my basement randomly thinking wouldn’t it be nice to have a nice pull up bar attached to my steel I-beam. As I’m in my 40s now I no longer can do pull ups or hang with my fingertips like I used to. So I did a search and surprised there weren’t too many options and this one by Firstlaw was $180! I was like F it let’s just go for if it means my fitness will improve over the next 12 months then it will be worth it. Arrived today and I was really impressed with the packaging. Also a hand written thank you inside. And was super easy to install and it went on the I-beam super secure. I think my whole family can hang on the bar. I am super impressed and getting good use out of this thing. Really well designed.

Impeccably Solid.
The quality of this thing is remarkable. Built like a tank. So easy to setup I had to double check myself because I thought I missed something. Clamps on like an Alabama tick made of adamantine. The only unknown is how long it will hold up over the years but I see no reason to believe it will falter. A true 5/5 star rating from me. Would recommend this to anyone. Totally worth the price. Update (04/2021) after weekly use by a 200lb male still holding rock solid. Update (01/2024) after weekly use by a 200lb male still holding rock solid.

While this pull up bar may be more expensive than other offerings, the quality is definitely what separates it from the rest. This does not feel flimsy in the slightest, it is super solid and does not budge at all when in use, it feels like its welded right to the I-Beam. If you are serious about fitness and have a place to install this I would highly recommend it. It is very solid and there is no way that it is going to slip around or anything while in use. The doorframe ones always feel very cheap and can slip around causing injury or damage while you use them, so if you are looking for an upgrade, this is it.
