Needed a 2# mallet for a couple new items requiring at least a 2# brass mallet. Works perfectly for the metal forming tools I purchased and the added weight is really not noticeable to me when hammering...I have a 1# brass hammer but if I were buying that one today, I would skip it and go with the 2#--less effort when hammering.

Nice heavy hammer, unfortunately, the grip was cracked and fell off the handle the first time I used it.
