First time using cotton paper, over the sketchbooks made with cellulose paper. Love that it doesn't pill and can keep wetting and layering as needed. I took mine camping with my slate satchel and field case. Lays flat (unlike other bounded sketchbooks). A true joy to paint with. Also works great using watercolor pencils and watercolor brush markers. I have not tried alcohol markers yet. The smallest one is just perfect for slipping into my pack. I do feel the white cover will get dirty overtime, being used outdoors. But hey. Now if the rain would stop, I could get out there and fill it up by the end of summer.My only issue, is that I journal the date and a little story to go with my sketch. Writing with pens and markers don't work so well. I reached out to etchr and they said to try gel pens, they work better on cotton. Headed out to pick some up.

This is bar none the BEST Watercolor Sketchbook book I have ever used. Paints are vibrant, accepts ink well and takes a lot of water and scrubbing without pilling. I wish I had tried these years before. One thing...there is a noticeable difference between the color of the cold pressed versus the hot press paper. The cold press is bright white...the hot press is more ivory.I purposely bought these instead of the premium Etchr group. They use Fabriano paper in the premium version. I have used Fabriano for a long time but recent changes to their process has produced a lesser quality paper, IMHO. The paper used in these is comparable to Arches.If you are on the fence, take the plunge. You won't be sorry.

As stated above, this is the absolute BEST sketchbook I’ve used for watercolor paintings. The pages are sturdy and feel like true cotton. They’ve got a great texture to them and showcase my paints beautifully. Definitely my go-to paper and sketchbooks for urban sketching from now on!!

These books really live up to the name, and so does customer service!They are dreamy to paint in and with a good set of colors it makes all the dreamy mixes wet on wet.Doesn't dry terribly quickly, is thick and textured. The covers are a lovely addition too!

Boahong makes the paper inside etchr.The white cover etchr is the academie version . And the etchr perfect sketchbook has the artist quality paper. I did research buying all the papers and the hot pressed is the same as well. I like the etchr books and prefer to use tge boahong books instead as tge price is way cheaper and you don't have to have it shipped from far . In the locker no brainer. Same same same etchr and boahong.

I got these to for some plein air watercolors and very pleased I tried something new. Quality paper and tight binding, while still being able to fold out flat.The added bonus is the canvas colors that you can dye/paint yourself if you like to color code based on different projects or studies.

These are beautiful sketchbooks beautifully packaged, email updates from Sktchr, and delightful to use!

By far some of the best watercolor sketchbooks you could possibly buy. I cannot recommend them enough.

I just watched a review of 5 journals on YouTube. This one came out on top and I agree. The paper handles water and pigments very well. The paper does warp, as would paper in any journal, so you have to clip it down. I will be buying again.
