Scyan X7 Biometric Fingerprint Keypad Door Lock

I got this lock for my room door, it was pretty easy and self explanatory to set up and install. You do need to drill a small extra hole for it so be sure about wanting it on the door you choose so you aren't left with a random hole in you door. It recognizes every finger on my hand (pinkies may take two tries) but you have to make sure to dry off your hand if its wet or it can get confused. This was my favorite purchase ever. You can't lose your keys (hopefully as that would be quite painful), its very techie and slick with a brightly illuminated blue piece of glass for the fingerprint scan and you can set a pin incase you ever need someone to open it for you when you aren't there (you'd have to instruct them on how to do this. Also comes with spare keys (the keyhole is hidden and made so that you cannot leave your door unlocked the key has to be actively being used to open the door.

This ended up working well but setup was rather confusing. It's decent and is doing it's job. It would be nicer with a mechanical indoor knob rather than confusing buttons to push within so many seconds to keep the lock open or to lock it. The lock is delayed when you want to pick it at the end of the day so you end up waiting for the lock to engage once you've put the code in.

For the most part, this unit works, except pressing the #5 button to unlock this with a code does not work. The unit does not respond at all. Scyan asked me to send back the front faceplate/keypad for the unit back, but my door can't be left without a handle. Not only would I not be able to open/close, but this would be a security issue. This was a new installation on a new door, so I don't have a temporary doorknob to install. So I asked them to send me a new faceplate as a replacement, and I would send back the defective one later. They said, sorry that "they can't do that" and told me to go buy a new doorknob/lock while I send theirs back and wait for them to repair it. Not only would I have to pay for shipping back to them, but now they want me to spend more money on another new lock/knob as well? Sorry, but I'm not ok with that. I am extremely disappointed by this poor customer service. I wasn't asking for much to get a replacement part for the faulty device. I was willing to ship the broken one back to them after I switched the part, at my own expense. I would not recommend this product - unless you are into taking risks or possibly spending more money than you originally planned.

Not easy to install, harder to program, and if you don't install it EXACTLY as they say, you'll be re-doing it. Trust me, a contractor I hired to do an addition had to do it 4 TIMES before it was right. Now, I will say that it was in a steel door which is a little more difficult than a wooden one, but come on....there are only so many Einsteins.

I initially had difficulty using the unit. I thought I had followed the instructions, and yet it was still unlocking to any fingerprint. I emailed the seller and received a response within 12 hours. I tried again, and the lock worked. Yay! It is a sturdy, practical, good-looking lock. It unlocks promptly.I do wish, however, that1) You could disable access to a user w/o having to re-enroll them.2) The unit could be set to require fingerprint and user code for some users.Granted, to add those functionalities adds complexity, and I like how easy this is to use.Tech support is PHENOMENAL!This lock is the best bar-none.Even still 5 STARS!

It was easy to install, I am not professional but I was able to follow instructions and do it within an hour including programmingOnly complain, it is very sensitive so need to place finger exactly same way as you did while setting up

I installed the lock and everything seemed to go well. I had the security of having a lock that works until a few days ago someone knocked the door and later tried to scan their finger. guess what? the lock opened with a fingerprint that was not even enrolled. I then tried all my fingerprints and lock keeps opening for all fingers.VERY UNSAFE PRODUCT to use as it just doesnt do what its meant to do. lock!I will have to look at a different alternative and almost $200 out of my pocket for this garbage product.

I purchased this lock for an office door. I recently had money taken from a coat pocket in the office and decided I needed to consistently keep the door locked. Ordered the Trinity 788. Install went fine. Fingerprint recognition went great also. (which is why it gets two stars). Final step was to confirm the manual emergency latch release (keyed) worked. It did not. Key would turn but latch would not move. Another reviewer here noted same problem. I was disappointed and annoyed to return the lock but intended to exchange for another with the seller. I wanted the lock but one that wasn't defective. Seller Scyan Electronics has been most unhelpful. Penalized me $20 for breaking the styrofoam packaging (part of the lock was imbedded in the foam- yes I followed removal directions- it was stuck). Paid $18 for the return shipping. Seller offered to let me buy it refurbished once it is fixed- wonderful- that is what I wanted, a refurbished lock for new price. Out $38 with nothing to show now. At least I have a large peephole in my door from the installation. I recommend if you see "ships from Scyan Electronics" that you look elsewhere. It is not worth the headache.
