The Miracle of Wild Oregano
I**T
Extremely repetitive but informative book extolling the virtues of the "true" oil of oregano
This book informs us of the strong curative powers of the oil of wild oregano. This oil kills viruses, bacteria, moulds, fungi and parasites. The crucial factor, states the author, is that the oil must be derived from "the wild oregano spice, which grows in the remote high mountains of the Mediterranean", more precisely from "Lebanon, Greece, Syria, and Turkey". These are the only reliable sources.Origanum vulgare is not the true oregano, according to him. "The true oregano is a combination of various wild plants harvested by villagers in remote Mediterranean mountains". It is thus not identified by the name of a species. (This seems very vague to me.) Moreover, Dr. Ingram states that "Carvacrol (the active ingredient in oil of oregano) is not emphasized but rather the fact that it is a whole spice or extract". It must not be Mexican, Spanish or Moroccan oregano. And it must absolutely not be a farm-raised version of wild oregano such as Origanum vulgare. Oils claimed to be made from a single species are usually farm-raised.The author's information about the nature of the wild oregano needed to produce the optimal, safe form of oil is all very well and good, but in practice it doesn't make it easy to ascertain the value of the oregano products found available by the consumer. Previously, in his books "Natural cures for diabetes" and "The cure is in the cupboard" Ingram advised us to buy the innumerable wild oregano products available from a specific American company. Unfortunately, I live in a country where health products sent from the US are confiscated by the authorities, so I would need to order products sent from, for example, the UK. I would really have liked if Ingram in this book or another of his books had given us the names of some companies not based in the US offering sale of good sources of these "correct" and potent wild oregano oil products. The author tells us that though the correct wild oregano is completely safe, certain forms of oregano oil are unfit for human consumption, and in fact the afore-mentioned "so-called" oregano oils from Morocco, Spain and Mexico are poisonous (so it is crucial to get hold of the right product). This book informs us of all the various kinds of oregano products available (steam-distilled oil, aromatic water (juice), the crude crushed herb, etc. etc.). Also we are provided with many case histories telling of persons healed of severe ailments by means of the oil and other products. These ailments include asthma, yeast vaginitis, migraine, infection by Clostridium difficile, straph infection, tapeworm infestation, chronic sinus infection, etc. etc. This is perhaps the most deadly repetitive book I have ever read, which severely impairs its readability. On the other hand we can't fail to get the message. He could have easily boiled the book down to a quarter of its present size, or perhaps less, had he excluded all the repetitions.Ingram also brings religion into the discussion, informing us that the wondrous qualities of wild oregano were extolled both in the Bible and the "Qur'aan". Moreover, he advises us of the bogus research carried out by the drug companies and of their deception as regards oregano oil.Read this book if you want a wealth of information about the curative properties of wild oregano products, but don't expect it to be the most exciting read.

The Miracle of Wild Oregano Book
I purchased this book on Amazon due to wanting knowledge on the various uses of Oregano. My husband and I got very sick this winter and we haven't been this sick in years. I hate going to doctors and so we drank lots of fluids, took vitamins and minerals, and yet couldn't shake this sickness. We suffered on and off for six weeks and I decided to take Oregano Oil in extra virgin olive oil, under our tongue several times a day, and walla it worked like magic. I believe what we had was a bacterial infection and boy was it powerful on our immune system. I started research on my computer and found out that oregano oil was also good for many other problems, and since my computer has a mind of it's own and doesn't work at all times, I decided to have a hard copy book on hand. I love it and I have come to rely on this little book for many things. I don't trust Big Pharma, and would rather go back to the days when my grandmother used natural cures, which worked for her for 96 years. Now, it is my opinion that drugs bring toxins into our bodies and impact our immune system, and when I hear about those who took this medicine and had a bad reaction to it on TV, and ask you to call them in regard so a lawsuit, does that feel comforting? I don't think so! There is a reason that here in the U.S. a doctor can lose his license treating his patients with natural remedies and that reason is we are taking money from Big Pharma. And my opinion is that Disease is big business!

The Miracle Of Wild Oregano
I'm taking it and whether it does all as claimed or not is yet to be seen. Let's say it's definitely an acquired taste and one herb that makes your breath smell like a super pizza. I make no claims to any effects on my self other than there are no side effects and your breath smells funny and your mouth burns for a few minutes but not as badly as eating hot peppers.-The author aludes to a blue label bottle throughout the book. Well it's "Blue Label" brand oil of wild oregano. Why that can't be said up front rather than shrouded in mystery is beyond me. Get permission from the oil supplier for pete's sake doc. Further, he has no website or contact information that I can find. He only does speaking engagements and how you would contact him is beyond me. He's well hidden for an author and a renowned lecturer.-I Googled him and found a lot of information and misinformation and spent hours searching for any Medeterranean Oil of Wild Oregano that linked to his books without success and that really soured me. Only after "assuming" that the brand he was referring to without being specific, was the "Blue Label" branded Medeterranean oil of wild oregano, did I find it. I had blown by it previously in my search efforts. They don't come out and say it either as the link below will show but somewhere in my search efforts confirmed that makes me believe that this is the oil mentioned in the book.-Here's one source for the Blue Label brand [...]-I got another brand by Healthy Health (catchy) with a higher concentration of the active ingredient, carvacol - 88%, from e-bay in a three-pack from a good seller. [...]-Even though I'll use the stuff because I believe in "old fashioned medicine" and like all remedies or herbs, the jury's still out on it's proclaimed miricalous healing and disease prevention properties. I do know that I am disgusted with the current medical 'practice' of drug dispensing to mask the underlying issues.-However, you can always use it for seasoning in Italian cooking if for nothing else. Because of it potency, A one ounce bottle, over 500 drops, should last any cook a lifetime. One word of caution, it gets onto everything you touch so besure to wash your hands toroughly or be careful where you put your hands after using the liquid because it burns wherever it goes.-All his books are basically the same and I don't doubt for a minute that what he says is true but keep in mind, not everything works on everyone to the degree stated in the books. Some are more like research papers, others have case histories cited, another, pure opinion with examples, all exude his enthusiasm for the subject so there's a bit of fluff in there as well. His books are not that expensive so if you don't like them, donate them. Either way, you'll learn a lot about herbal stuff. I did.-There's my two cents worth. Take it or leave it. Middle of the road. 3-stars.
