Do you like puzzles and confusion?
Well this was awkward. Ordered it without reading description but I’m not opposed to assembling a few things. So I opened it up and there are no instructions. So I tried anyways. The boxes are well built but the key kits are jacked up. One set only had 15 keys the other set had 18. Of the two sets neither had all 17 keys. I improvised and used a similar key and tuned it to the missing key. Looks weird but it works

Arrived quickly, very pleased
Be aware they come disassembled and you have to assemble them yourself and come with no instructions. If you're a musician and are familiar with this instrument, you'll have no trouble knowing where each prong goes. I bought two and assembled them in about 10 minutes. If you're not a musician, however, you're gonna be totally clueless, and are better off buying one fully assembled. Also be aware that you only get one tuning hammer even if you buy more than one, so if you're buying these in bulk to give to students, buy each one separately, or tell the seller that you need all the tuning hammers for them. They come as unfinished wood so you can stain or varnish them or even paint them. I, personally, don't recommend painting them if you're using your as a studio instrument as that could change the tonal characteristics of the instrument - a light varnish or light coat of furniture oil is probably best in that case.

AVOID, poor design
1) Not pictured: Does NOT come assembled, you need to put the keys in yourself2) Due to poor design, you can't get all the keys in and tighten them down at the same time. You're forced to bend keys or leave them loose, which causes them to shift.3) You either need to damage the keys or they are constantly shifting and the tuning changes as you play.Basically? It is poorly designed to the point it is unusable. Buy one that already has keys in place or won't be as difficult to put them in.

Missing pieces
This is the first time I’ve ever given a low rating to anything I’ve ordered, but the products are just unusable. I ordered 2 sets (for a total of 4), but only received enough parts for one. I’m going to assemble that one hopefully. So disappointed, I’m not even returning, going to just decorate them as imitation birdhouses😀

OK for the price
These were extremely difficult to put together. Getting the keys to go through the bracket was near impossible. Once I got it together I was able to tune one OK, but the other one will not tune.

Tricky to assemble
Tricky to assemble. I still Can’t figure it out. Let alone the missing keys lol. But if you enjoy trying to figure things out and improvising than you will love this!

Skip this.
It did not say that it comes in pieces. And it did not come with everything needed to make the two. In short, a rip-off.

Missing Keys
Neither kalimba came with any of the keys. Got sent blocks of wood, but they are currently just a paperweight.
