I have been hunting for a 1000TVL vandal dome camera for some time now and this one fit the bill.It really is not that large as the other reviewer stated. I needed something that would compliment the color underneath the soffit and stay hidden from the prying eyes of the HOA police. I guess they are a big fan of color coordination. Anyhow, looking at the specs did get me scratching my head a bit. Most cameras of the same make come in a 1.3 mega pixels for 1000TVL,where as this one comes in at 2 mega pixels. Did I read that right? The picture is sharp especially around the edges, and there is no flickering or discoloration compared to "other" brands I have it next to. You could use splitters, single BNC connectors, ground and terminate it via power supply box and still attain a clear picture for your surveillance monitoring.The OSD is a great addition. Once you pair it with an UTC controller, any single installer could manage the camera in the comfort of their house and avoid falling off the dreadful ladder!All in all, I still cannot get around the fact the camera looks used. I can discern some scratches on the top of the dome.That is just me. The sticker affixed to the camera denoting the model/s/n looked to be peeling away, but than again, most cameras I have purchased from Amazon are not immune from it. The end performances is all that matters. I just wish they had more vendors carrying this particular model and fulfilled by Amazon to save me some bucks!

I will be returning this camera due to the fact that the picture is out of focus and I am unable to get a clear picture without blurriness at any distance. The joystick is totally useless and does not have a focus option.

This camera has failed within 30 days. It's flickering and blinking on and off and changing from color to black and white and then going totally black on the screen, as if a sensor or something on its board has failed. When the image does show, it is distorted. The camera is installed under an awning and the sensor nor the lens is exposed to direct sunlight. I actually liked the product but hate the quality of the internal components. During my trouble shooting, I switched camera channels, and the camera that I replaced it worked just fine on its original channel and on the test channel. So, I know that the problem is not my cable or baluns. Instead, it the camera itself. This is really an inconvenience because I had to reorder the product, spending more money, time, energy, and effort and then wait until after I return the product for Amazon to process a refund. What a hassle! I have video and pictures to support my review.

For the rare occasions when the camera worked reliably, it has many issues with fine details where instead of rendering what it is able to properly, fine details would instead show up as a weird interpolated pattern that made the overall image look far worst than my old 600TVL cameras.At first I thought it was the DVR, but after connecting the camera to my video capture card on my PC, the same artifacts were present.Aside from the video quality issues, I also had issues with the menu system, at random times, the menu would either stop responding, or it would respond but any setting changes that you made, would not take effect and would also not be saved.Not sure if all of them are like this or not.And finally in examining the overall physical look of the device, it is not designed for longevity. The wires are extremely thin, and the unit also gets very hot (and I had it indoors with no exposure to sunlight). I can see this having a very short lifespan if placed in any outdoor location where the black casing would come in contact with sunlight.With issues such as this, I have pretty much come to the conclusion that no security camera is worth buying unless the company can provide day and night sample footage from the camera. The most important aspect of a security camera, is its image quality, and being able to resolve as much detail as possible. Unless you have at least one high res view of someone with enough fine detail to ID them objectively, the footage will not stand on its own for legal use as the criminal can easily deny being the one captures by the camera.

First one came DOA. 2nd one worked fine. Build quality is good. Picture quality is no better than a 700tvl. Still pretty grainy like most cctv cameras are. Not much to complain about for the price.

You can buy any kind of camera for any kind of money these days. For the price point this is the best deal you will get, this I have learned after buying many different models at many different prices. This one works better than one I paid over $200 for both day time and especially night time.I am very impressed with this camera, so much so that I have swapped all my existing cameras for this model. I am confident that this is sharp enough so if there is a crime the picture quality will be good enough to help. What I am most impressed with over any of the other cameras I have tried is the night vision capability of this camera. One in particular I have focused on the shed in my backyard about 70' away, at nights that entire area as well as the shed is as bright on screen as if I have a floodlight back there, yet it is pitch dark to the naked eye.
