Easy to use... once assembled
- This machine is elegant and seems stronger than most of similar price range.- The metal finish is nice. The description says its body is made of cast metal, note that much of it is actually plastic. It would be too heavy otherwise and it does not seem to impact its function or durability.- At first I thought it was too large but it actually looks just right next to a coffee maker and espresso machine.- The top container where you put the coffee beans, seems to be made of cheap plastic and looks as if it could easily break. Having said that, it only needs to be handled when you assemble the machine or clean it inside. Still, it would make me feel more comfortable to know I can buy a replacement if ever needed. Have not checked on it with the manufacturer yet but did not find it available on Amazon.- Many people say the machine does not work and they had to send it back... The biggest "issue" this machine presents is reflected in the reviews. It is actually due to no more than unclear instructions. If the above mentioned container is not locked in place, the machine will not turn on.The trouble is that it takes a lot to figure out what it means when the instructions say that you need to turn "the knob" 90 degrees until it locks into place. The only "knobs" I could see were the one to control the amount of coffee you are grinding and the one which defines how fine you want your grind to be. So WHAT KNOB?!?! After examining the machine carefully and trying to make sense of how it works, we finally figured it out! What they actually mean it that INSIDE the container, there is a structure that keeps the coffee beans from jamming into the grinder and THAT is what needs to be turned 90 degrees to open the passage for the coffee to go into the burr. It is very nice to have that feature because it prevents the container from being removed and hurting someone while in operation. It also stops the beans from falling out when you need to clean the machine and still have coffee bean in the container. So you turn the top of that structure which is inside the whole coffee bean container in order to lock it into place (see picture). Once understood, it is quite easy.- Important to mention that when you use the portafilter, it works by pressing it against the back of the machine. You will determine how much coffee will be ground, not relying on the front knob to stop at the number of cups you want.- Many people judge grinders without taking into consideration what coffee beans they are using. Some are greasier; harder; softer; dry; more roasted; greener; etc. That will greatly impact the machine's performance. I am using Lavazza coffee beans and it turns out great, without any mess and very consistent grounds.- The other point often mentioned in grinder reviews is regarding static and coffee grounds making a mess. Again, it depends on where you live and what is the local temperature and humidity. Some places don't have much static electricity issues and others do. You only have to worry about it if you live in a place where you often have your hair standing on end or your clothes clinging onto you and you tend to get "electrocuted" every time you touch your supermarket buggy! (A problem common in New Mexico during the winter but not in more humid places).Hope that helps you with your decision. I think this is a good choice of grinder and hope it will last for years to come.

Great Coffee Grinder
This is a great coffee grinder. I love the look of it. I didn’t want any fancy bells or whistles. I simply put the beans in the hopper after setting the side dial to the coarseness I want and press start. I only grind the amount of beans I’m using for one cup of coffee each time. You can set the timer for the amount of seconds you want it to grind. I set mine at about 20 seconds, and that works for one mug of coffee. If you need more time, press the button again and then press again to stop.A lot of people in the reviews thought they had a bad machine because it wouldn’t start, but you have to read the directions carefully. The bean hopper must be locked in place, and the cup that holds the coffee grounds must be clicked into place as well. There is a magnet that it clicks onto, and you have to remove the piece of blue plastic covering that first. That is not in the directions. I did not have those two things done properly at first, and the machine wouldn’t turn on. Once I read the directions and did those two things properly, the machine turned on.I’ve only had this machine for a couple of weeks, but so far I’m loving it. I love the look of it on my counter, and it is so easy to use. I use it for pour over coffee and set my dial at 8. The grounds easily pour out of the cup, and there is no problem with the grounds sticking to the cup. It grinds great every time, and I get a delicious cup of coffee every time. I highly recommend this machine.

pretty damn good, but some flaws
I have been using this grinder for about a year now. For it's price, it's really great. one of the only few grinders in this price range that can grind directly into the baskets, which is convenient. Some downfalls are that the grinds won't get small enough for espresso. Often it is reasonable, but I wish it could go down just a few more levels so I actually have some control over the grind size. at the moment, only the finest grind is okay for espressos, and anything coarser won't work. Another part is that depending on the roast of the beans, it will splatter the beans everywhere if you are using the basket directly. probably not as much of an issue ifyou use the box to catch all the grinds, but not if you are planning on using it for espresso.

Solid and well-produced precision grinder
I was quite impressed by this grinder, both for the build quality and the overall price. I'm not an espresso person with expensive beans, and while I can't speak authoritatively about the precise measurement of the grind, I still found that setting it to 4 (out of 16) was more than fine enough to suit my pour-over. The build-quality was really nice though. I liked how the bean holder needs to be snapped in , and with a tight covering, it should help with sealing in the beans. The grinds collector similarly comes with an easy to use cap, and I appreciated the contained aroma. Other things like being able to set the amount and also easily stop it at will, and cable storage show similar attention to detail. My only difficulty is that the grinds collector is a little too big for my use, but since it comes with a nice scoop it's not really a concern. Sound is a bit high-pitched but didn't feel louder than others I've used. This feels like it could easily cost more for the quality. Quite satisfied.

Junk
Brand new tried to grind fresh beans at #6 setting. Made it through half a cycle then wouldn't feed beans. Took it apart, cleared out unground beans and tried it again three or four times same result. Total piece of junk. Submitted return to Amazon. No problem, they took it right back. Bought a Kitchen Aid unit. Works like a charm so far. Cost about twice as much but you get what you pay for.
