Big Kahuna Portable Shower

I love this portable shower. I camp a LOT and most often in places with no amenities. This shower stream is strong enough to wash my long thick hair. I’ve also used this to rinse off after the beach (priceless) and to wash dishes at my camp site.Customer Service Kudos:I have had the shower for over six months and I am still in love with it. I had a question for the company and received a response very quickly!Now, After much use, I had a slight drip in the button portion of the shower head. Is not a big deal and completely could’ve been lived with but I thought I would reach out to see if I had a warranty. Jeff informed me that the The Big Kahuna has a lifetime warranty! They are sending a new shower head free of charge.Excellent product and excellent customer service! I’m very impressed!

So much wrong with this product but you can re-engineer it easily. All the new parts should be available at any hardware store and on Amazon of course.1) You can't lock the hand valve on so you can shower with two hands free and save water. Important for those of us who shower in a desert. I had to splice an inline brass value into the hose as shown in my photo.2) The shower stream is narrow, you can't adjust the spray to a wider shower pattern. Replace it with a better shower head. Mine in the photo came from a previous failed shower I bought on Amazon.3) I use a privacy tent and I rigged up a clamp to hold the head like a real shower. I use an Amazon Basics photography light stand with a 10/24 screw on top and secure a photography clamp on that. The photography clamp has adjustable direction so I have total control of the shower head height and direction.4) The blue coiled hose was difficult to work with so I bought 3/8 ID tube at a hardware store and replaced their tube and head.5) The reservoir is white and reflects light. This is stupid because you probably want a warm shower. I painted mine black and the water heats faster and better when left in the sun. Their labels peel off easily so after painting the reservoir I put one back on.6) They supply a worthless clamp for holding the power cable. Toss it and use Velcro or a larger clamp.7) The clips on the sides to hold the hose are worthless. Too small. The hose should wrap around the unit as should the power cable. Due to a cognitively challenged designer you’ll have to fix that yourself.The redesigned setup works great now! I shower and use about 2 gallons, less than half the water. Of course turn off the shower while soaping up to save water.

I had the Big Kahuna 8 gallon shower for about a year. It is a great product for just about any use. I use it on my Ford Transit Van that has been converted to an RV. I have already put in the water lines above the ceiling and below in the floor. After many hours of thinking how to complete my plumbing I came across the Big Kahuna Shower. It does everything I need it to do! It's is portable! Plug it in to your cigarette lighter and go for it! I can rinse off my paddleboard and kayak, rinse my feet and need be a full head to toe shower. Keep it in the sun and you will have a nice warm shower. Also I drilled a hole through the bottom of the kitchen counter and now use the shower to wash my dishes. My sweetheart loves it too because she can wash her hair! The nice part about the product is the service. I made one call about an issue I had and I got a call back the same day. The next day the part I needed was delivered...no charge! I recommend this shower to just about anyone out there who likes to keep things clean.

I have been looking for an easy system for fresh water wash down on my boat in the Florida Keys. Installing a permanent system is costly and the water always is a little skunky because it is difficult to drain on a regular basis. I have used solar showers but when full they are heavy and difficult to store when under way. And then I saw the Big Kahuna Shower I purchased it right away. For a boater in salt water this thing is a miracle for showering off when coming out of the ocean. It is easy to fill and the lid seals like a champ. The pressure is plenty and when I arrive back to shore it is a snap to empty and store in the garage, so each voyage begins with clean fresh water not something that has been in a holding tank for months.I also purchased an alligator battery adapter as my batteries are near the rear of the boat where folks get out of the water and rinse off. Fantastic design!!

We have a backwoods/wilderness cabin in the foothills of the East Cascades. Incinolet solved the hygiene problem. However, after several tries at the second most important component of civilization, the shower, we still didn't have something that was easy to use, efficient, and gave a good shower stream. I stumbled on to Big Kahuna while looking for something else. Good price, and I knew from my own attempts where the problem areas were. Big Kahuna had NAILED IT!! Easy, efficient, good stream of water; we got the large capacity unit (bigger is always better, right? Big, Big Kahuna!), and that was enough water for two of us to clean up. If it heated the water, that would be the max, but I have plenty of propane just waiting to heat water.If you find yourself in need of a shower, but don't have running water, Big Kahuna will be your new best friend!!

I purchased the 13 gallon for my husband's birthday present and he lovvvvves it! My husband is an avid outdoorsman. Please know that you have to purchase the heating unit separately. This product is GREAT for camping and we are looking for to taking it with us on our family road trip in June. If your husband loves to camp, go to the beach or fish then this is a great gift for him.

I shower 3x a week after paddling canoe practice. This is fantastic. I put hot water in early AM, practice PM AND the water stays hot. For me, this is the right amount of water. I find carrying 5 gallons heavy, so I shuttle hot water in my gardening watering pot, works great!
