Good quality work boot /Two Year Update
I wanted a leather slip on work boot. The fact that these boots are USA made got my attention. Ariat was another considered brand. These are excellent leather. The comfort of these boots support the technology that went into the construction. You can feel the ground but with the right amount of padding that protects and supports doing work on various types of terrain. These boots are confidence inspiring when stepping on uneven ground and on top of debris. There is a break in period, of course. I am using a heavy sock. I have a pair of US made dress Justin Ropers in the same size. Two years from purchase. I love these boots and use a thick boot sock . By now they are well broken in, supple and soft. These offer the foot protection I was after for working around farm equipment and wood cutting. I feel stable and confident using these boots any use except where a lace up would provide be needed for walking on a an angled roof.Update, I have been wearing these boots for a year. These are excellent, durable, and well fitting, performing boots. I use thick wool hiking type socks. I have read these type of boots are designed to be worn with thick socks. The heel and foot bed has excellent stability. The leather quality is impressive. These boots are now very easy to walk in after having used the wetting and wearing breakin method recommended. The boots look better having been worn than new.Three years using these boots. They continue to deliver the protection and support I wanted in a work boot. About every six months I clean and apply a generous amount of saddle soap, air dry then brown polish. The soles and heels show little wear. Of course if I used them everyday they may be worn out by now.

Your feet deserve a better winter experience.
Okay, these will change your winters for the better. As a guy who's been trying to survive the cold season with all kinds of lace up boots over the years, my neighbor finally convinced me to give these a shot. It's a whole new winter wonderland for me! I ordered them in my normal size, and a regular width. Slipping in and out of them is easy, and your feet are not gripped tightly as they were in my Timberlands, Wolverines or Caterpillars. Instead, your heel lifts up a little as you walk, giving you a sort of relaxed cowboy gait. Even in cotton socks, your feet are kept wonderfully warm, without any fur lining. I guess it's the principle of an insulating layer of air? The leather is soft from day one, but becomes more supple through frequent use. You do have to treat them. I recommend Mink Oil, slathered on generously and rubbed in with a cloth. It darkens the leather quite a bit, prevents cracking, and makes them more water resistant. I highly recommend these. You're walking through the freezing cold like you're wearing some comfy slippers.

Forget the Justin 4440 work boots -- Go with the Justin WK4960 and Save yourself $$ and Heartache
I originally was going to order Justin WK4960 work boots . But something inside my stupid head head made me order these Justin 4440 boots .As soon as they were delivered ( Took just over a week to receive -- I was very disappointed about that because normally I receive orders off Amazon between2 days to 5 ( tops ) . ( I guess these came from the manufacturer )??? Who knows .....Anyway -- as soon as I opened the box I could already see that they were going to be too big . I put them on and walked around the house for a little bit and YUP -- Too Big !!I even put on another pair of thick socks and my heels were still bouncing up and down . I was so unhappy because these were not cheap and i waited so long . ( if it seems like I am whining -- that's because I am ). I am just trying to help the next customer .I was even worried about the taller shafts . For a work boot they seem a little flimsy . I can't imagine what they would like after a few months when you are really breaking them in ) . Just not my desired look and feel .And I did not like the fact that they are not waterproof . ( for this kind of money I thought they would be , but that was that idiot in my head again ).So although they look really nice - and I am sure very comfortable as long as you order the correct size - I ended up returning them the very next day . And went with my first instinct -- I ordered the Justin Work Boot style WK4960 . They were here in a day and I did order one HALF size down . They are perfect !! could not be happier -- I saved like $30 to $40 and they are Rugged and Waterproof ( I do plan on wearing them thru all sorts of weather ) . The shafts are much thicker and seem like they will last a very long time .

They can run big, great craftsmanship.
I got this boot size 10.. My feet 9.5 ~10. I have allways buy size 10 work boots. I have wide feet and they got wider with weight gain and age. I should of listen to the other reviews and gotten half size smaller extra wide. Anyways day 1 was nice(under armor work socks thinner and keep feet dry) end of day I notice them loose felt discomfort in heel. Day 2, I decided to wear regular sock (thicker feet sweat)started to feel the heel rubbing even with thicker socks and pain in my heels from rub.I was gonna return them but I gave it another day with under armor socks( don't like sweat). I figure my heel should get use to and it did. I was pain free and forgot about the loose boot.On day four I don't even notice they feel like year old boots. Keep in mind they are on the big side they don't seem to bother me at all. Now I give 4 stars is to the great craftsmanship that goes on this boots, I mean they are tough I think that's why they rub more at the heel at first, I love them. Next pair I'll order size 9.5 extra wide and see how it goes. For now I'll stay with size 10.I could handle little discomfort first day or 2, but if you are one that can't I recommend softer leather boots.
