I waited to write this review until I actually needed to use the straws. I purchased them to use during a surgical recovery which required me to keep my face parallel to the floor 24hrs/day for many days. Drinking any liquid required a straw but a typical straw clearly wouldn't have worked with hot liquids and I didn't want to give up my daily coffee. The straws worked great for everything from the coffee to smoothies and made a difficult period easier. The person in charge of cleaning them reported that they cleaned easily. While most people will not be buying this product for the purpose I did, for anyone who needs a straw for a hot drink (or any other) these straws get a strong thumbs up from me.

I like these straws very much and would like to give 4.5 stars. They are soft and pliable and the fact that they come apart for better/easier cleaning is a real bonus. It is nice that they provide a cleaning brush, too. (I didn't read carefully enough so bought a separate package of brushes, but that's my fault.)The only thing I wish was a little different is in the actual forming of "bend" part of the straw. It appears it is created by two halves of silicone that when placed together form the tube of the straw. The annoying thing is that the seam is at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position - meaning your lips are very aware of this seam. If they changed the design just a bit so that the seam is at the 9 and 3 o'clock position, you wouldn't even be aware that it's there.All in all, though, they are a great solution.

I got these straws for my toddler to use; we needed good quality silicone straws, and Bubba straw are too long for him to use by himself. I got these because they seperate and have the bend in them; I also did not want to cut our current silicone straws for fear of what might happen as they are used/washed. They are a little expensive, but we don't like using lots of disposable straws at home due to the waste. Bubba brand straws are thicker material, but these seem to be decent quality and my son has an easier time. The bottom piece is actually a good size for some of his cups.Easy to clean in the dishwasher.

The two parts have a flange and a groove. Make sure, when you reassemble them after wasing that you put the flanged end of the curved piece into the groved end (logo end) of the straight piece, and push in until you feel the flange catch, or push past the grove. Otherwise you get air leaks.

I decided to purchase a pack of these after my husband hit a pothole while driving and almost punctured the roof of his mouth with a stainless steel straw. I was a little bummed when they arrived and realized each straw is actually made of two pieces. Then I realized this two-piece format makes cleaning those little suckers a lot easier. I LOVE these straws. Not only am I not filling up the local landfill with disposable straws, but the colors help in deciding which Yeti belongs to which passenger.

First off I need to say that we paid real actual money for our straws. Apparently there was a straw fairy going around giving them out for free, but we were not so fortunate. Right now I have pneumonia and have been existing on a diet of smoothies and seltzer water, so I've been going through a lot of straws. I wanted something dishwasher safe because I do not want my husband picking up pneumonia from a straw and I preferred silicone. The stainless and glass straws looked fun, but I could not keep from imagining myself chomping down on a glass straw on accident and have it shatter in my mouth. No thanks. We make our smoothies super thick. Hold the glass upside down and nothing falls out thick, so I was a little worried. These straws did okay. They did collapse a bit at first, but once I got started they worked fine. I think the joint was not attached properly after we washed it, which is something we will need to learn to do. As far as water is concerned, I have a very old Contigo cup and the straw squishes into the mouth opening fine. My husband loves them because I down 8 ounces of water in one sip. No more badgering about water intake.

These straws are great! Good value too, 6 straws and a cleaning brush. In my household, I have adults as well as a 2 year old and 4 year old grandchildren who use these straws. These straws are flexible and gentle on the teeth and gums. They're also very sturdy and resist the kid's bite marks....no more flattened straw tips! If I want use this straw with my smoothie cup which is taller, I just attach a second tip to the bottom of the straw, which extends the straw. Genius idea! I paid full price for this item and gave this positive review because I love them, not because I was offered reduced pricing to give a review. (smile)!

These are large enough in diameter to accommodate regular drinks and smoothies -- a big plus. I opted for silicon over glass because they are kid-friendly. However, my son won't use them, even though his Thermos sippy cups have built-in silicon straws. I use them for my drinks though. They take a little time to get used to. I wash these in the dishwasher and haven't used the brush so far.I found a piece of plastic in my baby's mouth, and it somehow came from the inside of the straw. I have no idea how it survived the dishwasher, and I'm just grateful she didn't choke on it.
