Good book. Very good recipes, however not very happy the way the recipes are organized. They are organized by the restaurants they come from not the food categorize. If you are trying to decide on cooking chicken, you may have to go back-and-forth a bit.

Vikas khan a has totally captured the essence of Mumbai in this book! All the places he has mentioned are old places and have been to so many of these and these places are what truly make the Mumbai food famous! Would love to see another book capturing all the new trendy places in Mumbai and their recipes

Great book detailing the different cuisines on the Mumbai restaurant scene. I can't judge the authenticity of the regional Indian cuisine, except for the Bengali restaurants. The recipes match very well to the ones I use at home. A great introduction to regional Indian cuisine through the point of view of a Maharastran sensibility.

Beautifully written; evokes fond memories of visits to Bombay throughout my childhood! Lovely recipes that give a taste of the city and its many food cultures.

Recipes are picked from eating joints and restaurants around Mumbai..and what I thought would be his own recipes.And vegetarian recipes are so less. I regretted buying it. It added nothing to my recipe bank.

This book is an extraordinary piece by an Extraordinary man.Its a book that tell one about the best places in 332 pages.Its a book which can hell people two ways, firstly by its brilliant recipes and secondly by the description of the book.People can go to these places and relish their food or they can sit home and cook all by themselves.Great book, beautiful pictures, awesome recipes, brilliant description- In one word the book is must for all who love cooking and love eating..!!Must buy

The author should have given the authentic restaurant recipe first and then added his own tips and additions below .It would have been nice if could recreate the same taste as eateries in our kitchen. I bought the book basically for an authentic Sardar Pav bhaji recipe but was totally disappointed when I saw that he has given his own healthier version which everyone of us follows at home, nothing new.There are other recipes too in the book but Mumbai's street food is quite famous.Now I really doubt how authentic the other recipes are.

Nice book with all mumbai special recipes.. Though there are some recipes specially vegetarian which are quite usual for us but the nonveg variety is amazing. The book contains famous hotels description with its famous dish with the twist of vikas khanna.. from bademiyan's famous kebab to vada pav you can find mumbai's each famous recipe in the book. I have tried medu vada sambhar with chutney my family loved it. I will recommend this book to begginers and those who are interest in making nonveg varieties in home.

The book is more than what I expected it to be!Lots of information, authentic recipes and great design!I think it is the best book available on the subject, having bought a lot of other books by various authors.

Colorful and informative. A good read. Have tried the chicken roll, which turned out very well. Look forward to trying more.
