Queen Latifah is GANGSTA in this movie, this part was tailor made for her! The other ladies were great too.

My boyfriend really loved the movie.

This movie rules. Great acting, good story line, great sisterhood. It shows the struggles of hood women and their daily challenges. It shows to be grateful for what you have in life cause some don’t got the money or family to support them and end up getting in a bank robbing situation. These actresses dedicated their role to this movie and this should receive more credit.

This is an excellent movie because of the reasoning of why they want to rob the bank. I won't spoil for those who have seen it but it explains the motives of why each character wants to rob a bank, either for revenge, or for that special someone in their family. It is not as if they just randomly rob banks it all has a pretense and not a knee jerk reaction or robbing a bank just because. I just watched the whole video in blu-ray on my ps3 and I must say I am impressed because there were a few scenes when the true dolbyhd sound kicked in and you can hear and see all of the action. If you want a movie that has good acting and good plots behind, but aren't as graphic as other hood movies this is a good hood movie.

I bought this movie around ten years ago in one of my trips to NYC, I am from Mexico, and I saw it ones by HBO or other broadcast company, and I liked the effort and commitment of those four black girls, and all their dreams about a different lives, maybe helping her brother to go to College or fixing cars or even trying to obtain more money for their own child.When I bought that movie, it doesn't has Spanish subtitles, I tried to understand English, but my family not, so this time, when this movie was released again, I'm not waste the opportunity to buy it. Is a great movie, with great actors and good fx. If you like action movies mixed with drama, this movie is for you.

This movie is a classic. It's a good story with a lot of action and suspense. Then they follow it up with a very sad ending.

This is a really good movie. To each is own. I like it because I am a 70's baby. With that said I am drawn to almost all things I grew up with. I enjoyed it back then and I enjoy it now. Especially in blu ray at a reasonable price.

Very pleased this is finally available on blu-ray. Not much difference in the director's cut compared to the DVD release. And its very unfortunate the blu-ray lacks any extra features with the exception of a 20-minute 'making of' special that was pieced together poorly. I would've loved to see the extra footage, commentaries, etc. from Latifah herself and more actors in the film. This film was heavily promoted in 1996 with material and footage which New Line should've included but didn't. Another criticism is the groundbreaking soundtrack and music videos from the film which was totally disregarded on the bluray. It would've been a treat to feature music videos in HD such as Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's "Days of Our Livez" and En Vogue's biggest hit with Dawn Robinson "Don't Let Go (Love)". Still, it's my favorite black cinema and fantastic to watch in HD nonetheless.

Eine Blu Ray mit einem super Film Klassiker. Obwohl der Film schon einige Jahre auf dem Buckel hat ist er es auf jedenfall wert zum sehen. Eine super schnelle Lieferung und der Verkäufer war sehr hilfsbereit. Einfach top. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

Quel dommage que ce film ne soit pas plus connu, intitulé en Français "Le prix à payer", il relate la vie de quatre femmes toutes amies mais chacune avec des personnalités différentes, qui vont avoir à faire face à des drames , qui vont les mener à effectuer des braquages de banque pour espérer se sortir de leurs situations. Les quatre actrices principales, Vivica FOX, Kimberly ELISE, Queen LATIFAH et Jada PINKETT sont excellentes dans leur rôle respectif. Pour le côté technique, il s'agit bien d'un BR toutes régions et non zone 1, j'ai un lecteur zone 2 uniquement et il a marché parfaitement, l'image est superbe, par contre, pas de VF ici, uniquement Anglais avec Sous titres Français, mais ce film le mérite pour apprécier pleinement le jeu de tous les acteurs et l'émotion qui en découle. Excellent.

This review is for the US Blu-ray release.This is the Director's Cut.Firstly, the extended/extra scenes weren't really necessary and were primarily character enhancing. Nonetheless, it was still great to see them.This film has always been one of my favourites and I was very pleased to see it get a release on BD in the States. However, the first release was region locked. However, according to Bluray-com THIS later release was Region Free. I took the risk and ordered it.I'm very pleased to say it plays on my Region B player with no problems.As for the picture - it's a vast improvement over the DVD but there are moments when the picture is a little soft and fuzzy. It's not bad enought to worry about though, in my opinion. The audio is excellent and really utilises a decent sound setup.If you live in the UK and are thinking of buying this BD I would highly recommend you do.
