Good product, no lead slippage, durable.
Good 2mm lead holder. I have two of them. They grip the leads without slippage. Easy to reload. Easy to use. Comfortable grip. They are light like a wood pencil. I do recommend this lead holder.

One of my 2 favorite Lead Holder brands!!!!
Ever since art school so many years ago, I've always preferred drawing with a good lead holder with plenty of 2.0 graphite & blue lumochrom leads and a Staedtler 502 lead sharpener. My 2 preferred lead holder brands are the Staedtler Mars Technico and the Alvin Tech DA series. Both have the build quality and sturdiness I require in my drawing tool of choice & I never have to worry about either of them falling apart or jamming with frequent use. Whether I am creating illustrations for inking, painting, or digital coloring, I know that I have quality drawing tools that will last for many years. Since my local art store no longer carries Staedtler products, I've had to go online to get the tools I needed in the amount I needed & at the right prices. I'm currently buying multiples of Staedtler lead holders, leads, and sharpeners to ensure that I'll always have the quality drawing tools I want and need for years to come. When it comes to my drawing tools, I will accept no substitutes.

This has been great for my beginner drafting class
I purchased this for my beginner drafting class as a second lead holder so that I wouldn't have to switch out the leads on my primary pencil. Since then, this has become my main pencil. It's a bit heavy, which helps me control my strokes. The knurled finger grip is perfect. It's not so bumpy that it hurts my fingers, but just rough enough so it doesn't slip through my fingers. The clip on the end has lead weights printed on it. Rotating it lets you label what lead you have in the lead holder. It's a great feature and really comes in handy. I actually bought 2, and while I'm not at a place in my class where I need more than 2, I'm sure I'll use it a lot down the road.

Still the best
I actually use these pencils for weekend construction projects (rather than whittling the end off of a rectangular carpenter's pencil) as it always produces a more precise line, and the end cap is a built-in sharpener. I bought my 1st one about 38 years ago as a Freshman in college for drawing class (the last year before CAD), but it recently got misplaced. As I needed 2mm lead as well (assuming I will find my old one), I ended up purchasing a China brand that looked similar, and came with 24 lengths of extra graphite an eraser, and separate hand sharpener - all for the same price as the Staedtler pencil alone.Although the China made one worked well and even had a better system for indicating the graphite hardness inside (in my opinion), the end cap was surprisingly heavy, and without enough friction between the body of the pencil, it kept falling off under normal use. It was well made, just too heavy and/or without enough friction to keep it in place.Long story short, the end of the China brand pencil came off on the job site, and was never found. I ordered the Staedtler to finish the project, and never had an issue with the cap ever coming off during normal use.Maybe if you are using as an indoor drawing pencil a cheaper version will work just fine for you, but for me the Staedtler pencil remains my favorite for excellent outdoor job-site performance!
