Although I think these are primarily sold for use in home soda making machines, I bought them to use in my Pepperball TCP CO2 powered pistol that shoots various home defense rounds, similar to those used by many law enforcement agencies for "less than lethal" crowd control. The TCP uses 8 gram cartridges, which are a little harder to find than the more common 12 gram size, and are typically more expensive when bought from home defense dealers. The Leland cartridges fit fine in the pistol, seemed to have plenty of power, and were a good value. I assume these would also work in many pellet and BB guns that use 8 gram CO2 cartridges.

Before I ordered, I read all of the reviews and read them to my husband, as well, so he'd be able to get it to fit a Twist 'n Sparkle. He made it with a simple strip of cardboard from the packaging and it works great. I think it's more carbonation than the Sparkletts, actually, I'd read that they have less and I don't find that to be the case. Also, I'd heard of the different opinions about an aftertaste on feedback and so we ordered the small package first (10 charges) to try it out. I have a pretty sensitive palate and the taste isn't that different. I don't get the aftertaste unless it's not cold enough (my own fault). Other than that, taste can also be influenced by the water itself and, since my local water is full of delicious, nutritious heavy metals, the taste is different from one day to the next anyway. The money you save is truly worth it. This part is just a personal tip, but I also have hereditary health issues that have been giving me a rough time over the last 15 years or so. If Perrier makes you feel better when you're nauseated or you tummy isn't quite settled, get the cartridges like this and a Twist 'n Sparkle and you (and a loving spouse) will feel much better! :)

Fun

Since the Pepperball branded 8 gram CO2 cartridges are out of stock, we purchased these to use to practice with the Pepperball Mobile Lightweight Personal Defense launcher. I have no experience with any other brand of cartridges, so I can't make comparisons. We have shot three strings of three rounds each with these on multiple occasions. As the manufacturer states, the gas leaks out within 24 hours of firing the first shot, so it must be replaced once the shooting session is complete.

Used these to make drinks

I have just received the second shipment. It came in a different box than before. These do NOT fit the hamilton beach fizzini!!! It did not carbonate the water and it broke my machine in the process. Do not buy this. I didn't realise these cartridges were just a bit too big for the machine . A hair, but it still got stuck in it after I tried carbonating the water. I have contacted the seller and am waiting for a response.

These are visually and functionally identical to the CO2 cartridges that Byrna sells on their webstore, but about 40% cheaper than Byrna's store. I've attached a picture of the two cartridges side by side, the original Byrna CO2 cart is on top and the Leland cart is on the bottom. Fired off 12 kinetic rounds with my standard Byrna HD through the Leland CO2 cartridge without any issues. Highly recommended!
