For over a year I have been looking for something to eliminate the disgusting stench of cigarette smoke that comes up to my apartment from the downstairs neighbors. Mainly my linen closet as it is small traps most of the odors in there. I had to take all my linens out and repurpose it as a pantry. I have used baking soda, white vinegar, coffee beans, febreze, Lysol spray, you name it I've used it. I even put a cup of fabric softener and dryer sheets inside and the smell still lingered. I found these by chance while browsing the site and figure I give it a try. I put one in for one night and the smell was gone. I thought I would have to wait a few days at least to notice a difference but I was pleasantly surprised.These are amazing. I also used one in a spare room where I have boxes of stuff and other things which were starting to smell musty. I hung one of these in the middle of the room from the vent and the next day the smell was gone. I'm ordering my second set now. This product is amazing.

Two years ago I moved into a 300 square-foot studio to save money for house. I had two cats and a big litter box that I kept clean constantly. The smell in the house or the small studio got so bad That i gave one of my cats to my son. Sad. So I have this one old boy and he has the most disgusting bowel movements in the world. I do give the cat enzymes in his food it helps a little bit. But the litter box smell continues, even if it's clean it was smelling. Every day I come home from work I feel like I'm walking into a farm barn. I discovered these on Amazon and decided to take a chance. I have been spending a lot of money on sprays and candle burners, so why not I thought. I ordered another brand and hung one above the litter box and I noticed within 48 hours the smell was gone. I ordered these because they had ropes. I cannot tell you how much of a joy it is to come home and smell nothing. I am going to order more soon to make sue I never run out. What a godsent.

These little packets of activated charcoal are amazing. I had a "smoke event" in my kitchen. No fire but a TON of smoke that filled the entire house and left an acrid, burnt smell. (I'd left chickpeas on the stove and forgot to turn it off when I left the house for a few HOURS of errands.) We had tried everything we could think of. Washing cabinets with vinegar soda. Leaving cabinets open for days and all the windows in the house open. Putting baking soda in the cabinets...I was dubious that these would help but I thought I had little to lose. I bought one packet for each cabinet. Put them in the sun and the put them into the cabinets. The smell truly did go away. I am a believer.

I had high hopes for these guys, but they just didn't cut it for me. After reading other reviews about absorbing smoke smell in small areas, I purchased these to put in my car which is sometimes smoked in. I felt as though they made zero difference so after a few months, I threw them out. Giving 3 stars because perhaps I was wrong to try them in the car and because I felt the company offered great customer service.

My son has these old boots held together with duct tape that absolutely reek! If he wears them in the car when the heat is on the smell is terrible and the entire car begins to smell, it is nauseating. No sprays or deodorizers have worked. As soon as these arrived I told him to put one in each boot and see what happened. The next day he took them out not expecting much and he almost fell over in surprise because there was NO ODOR AT ALL. I mean completely gone, as if they were new shoes. He thought I was making it up when I said that there were tons of 5 star reviews about these things. I also hung one up above the litter box and I think it has cut the odor from that at least in half or more. The real challenge now is how long they last, but so far I am blown away. I wish I had gotten more than one set when they were on sale.

I bought this product to help deodorize a smelly closet that reeks of shoe stink. Unfortunately, despite putting them out in the sun and putting BOTH odor absorbers in the closet, the smell lingered. I have since purchased other items in an effort to tame the stink. The odor absorber was no match for the stinky feet in my house.

I put these in my slip on shoes (that I always wear barefoot) overnight. While they weren't so smelly that you could catch a whiff from a distance, it had about a two-foot "Is that coming from MY shoes?" odor radius. One night with these charcoal inserts and the next morning they smelled of nothing. I can't testify to the longevity of the absorption but I figure if I keep them in there nightly I should be good!

Awesome product. I have used in a couple areas in my house and car and it works great! I dropped a pack of hotdogs in my truck and didn't know it until my whole car started smelling like a dead animal. I put two of these in the trunk and one in the back seat and after a few day the smell was gone!!
