Amazing Instant Noodles!!
These are so good! Where do I begin? Price Point: I got these as a 30 count which ended up being about 81 cents a package. It's more expensive than a cheap ramen at the grocery store, but way cheaper than a lot of other quick/easy instant meals. It's definitely worth the buy if you're eating on a budget, but an even better money saver even if you're not! Noodles: The noodles have a great chew for instant noodles of this price point. They don't get too soggy too fast. This is amazing for me because I'm a bit of a slow eater and hate when my noodles get all soft and soggy since they're hard to slurp. Broth: The hot and sour flavor is great. I've never had the real thing and now I wish I had tried sooner! It's hard to get sick of even after eating several days in a row. I like that the chili packets come separate from the rest of the flavoring so I can decide how spicy I'm feeling, but even the full packet isn't that spicy for me, and I have a high heat tolerance. If you're looking for something really hot in that regard, you will want to add more chili. Other: The only addon I've tried is cooked shrimp, and if you can afford to add even a handful of shrimps to this, it's totally worth it! Delicious noodles.

I grew up eating this comfort food. Easy, fast, delicious, easily improved/modified. Full of flavor.
If you're ordering 30 packages of ramen, chances are you already know what you're getting and want a stash of it. But in case you don't: Mama Tom Yum is my personal comfort food. I've been eating this since I was a little girl; it's the go-to meal in my (Chinese-Malaysian-American) household because it's easy and fast to make, DELICIOUS, and can be improved with the addition of your own fresh ingredients. Each ramen packet comes with one ramen block, one 'wet' oil/paste flavour packet, one 'sour'/lemongrass powder flavor packet, and one chili powder packet. I've found that one package is an appropriate portion for one person with a moderate appetite (like me). You can vary the spice/flavor level by putting in more or less of the chili powder or lemongrass powder when you cook it. It's super easy and takes <10 minutes to prepare. The best method, in my personal opinion, is to bring some water (enough to cover the ramen brick) to a boil in a saucepan. Then, drop in the ramen brick. As it's boiling, open the wet oil/sauce packet and squeeze it in. Then goes the sour/lemongrass flavouring powder, then the chili powder. The ramen will soften, so stir it with a fork and mix it in; let it cook for a few minutes, and voila! But for the BEST Mama Tom Yum experience, crack an egg into it a minute or two before it's done and let the egg cook into a delicious soft-boiled egg on top of the ramen. Other great toppings/additions: bok choy, mushrooms, leftover shredded chicken, roast duck, roast pork, etc. Finally, I like just a dash of sesame oil on top right at the end of cooking for extra flavor.

I Love Mama.
I've tried many brands of Ramen but Mama no matter the flavor is in its own league. The flavors are really nice but the noodles are hands down the best. The noodles never get that gummy texture like some. Mama is really hard to beat. The portion size is just right and only takes a few minutes from start to finish. I like to use a little less water than is called for. Every once in awhile I'll add shrimp, beef or chicken plus some veggies or dried mushrooms to make a real meal. A little bit of Thai chili sauce or chili crisp is nice to bring the heat up a bit too. I love these kind of noodles because there's a lot of flexibility in what you can do with them. Plus they're an inexpensive snack or base for a real meal.

Better than I even hoped for. (UPDATE: use it quickly - 1 star off for short shelf life)
September 2020: The Best By date on these is December 2020 (purchased February 2020), but they are already tasting a bit rancid. They tasted fine when I got them so I guess they just go bad really quickly. The flavor packets stay good, just the noodles go bad. This was my third purchase, and this time I’m really certain. I would store in the fridge whatever I thought I wouldn’t eat within 3-4 months. Both my previous purchases I ended up throwing out about half the packages because they’d gone rancid. I kept the flavor packets though, and used them with some 5/$1 ramen from the dollar store, and that was fine. Previous review: I’m almost addicted to these things. Second purchase. If it’s not quite restaurant Tom Yum flavor (which I sometimes find overly sweet anyway), for around $.50 and three minutes, it sure scratches that itch. If I substituted some canned mushrooms, cooked shrimp, and cilantro for the noodles, I think it’d come pretty close. Can’t wait to try adding some coconut milk for a Tom Kha. Could an instant soup be any cozier in the autumn? I have a low to medium tolerance for spicy-ness and without the chili powder added, I find this level pleasantly warm. My last purchase was a bit short-dated and the noodles tasted slightly off, but this round is good and fresh with a reasonable 9-month best-by date. About $16 with Prime shipping.

Great as instant noodles and soup base for Tom Yum soup!
Very strong kaffir lime leaves and citrus flavor that make this one of the best Tom Yum flavors I have had, and pretty good quality as far as instant ramen noodles go. Mildly spicy, and if you like more sting, you can use the chili flakes that are packed separately. The only possible downside is that it is not really sour, so make sure you have some lime juice to add if you really crave the sourness. I have used the paste that comes in the packet to make my own Tom Yum soup: Use 4 soup packs for 4-6 cups of water, bring to a boil. Cook 8oz sliced mushrooms until soft, add some shrimp and other seafood of your choice. Finish by adding lime juice to taste. When done cooking, let cool down a bit, and add sliced fresh tomatoes and cilantro. What to do with the remaining noodles? The good thing about these is that they are spiced and can serve to make another soup of your imagination. My favorites are stir-fry some green onions, or add carrots, peas, cabbage, other veggies of choice to a pot of water, then add the noodles and cook 2-3 minutes. Your second soup is ready! :) Didn't mean to turn this into a recipe book, but I am trying to point out the versatility of these noodles, in addition to their exceptional taste. Highly recommended, enjoy!

Tom Yum shrimp is fantastic
I eat way more ramen than one person should, so I was happy to give this a try. When they first arrived though I was a bit thrown off by how small the portions were. They are a bit on the small side. For the price though it's still a good value, but I'm in between eating 1 for a meal or 2. I wish there was 3 oz size. It does have the oz size in the listing but who really understands what 2.2oz looks like. The flavor is great though. Solid Tom Yum taste. Would probably be great to throw a couple of shrimp in. I only had some turkey so I used that and wasn't disappointed. Overall though I really like this one.

Not your typical pack of noodles
These noodles blow typical ramen or "roman" noodles out of the park. They are so yummy, delicious. The raw noodles by themselves are flavorful, even without using the packs of goodies that come with it. I like a bit of spice with a lot of my food as I love Southern Creole digs. With that being said, I only use half of the pepper package with my noodles...not sure exactly what pepper the mfg uses, but it seems hotter than cayenne and sets me and my family on fire if I put too much. I will not use more than 2 whole packs of pepper no matter if I cook 6 noodle packs or 10 because of how spicy it is. For those of you who truly like a big kick of heat with your food, then go for it!!! In addition to the pepper pack, attached below the same pack is the overall seasoning. In a separate pack, there is the Tom Yum paste pack that puts this product in a league of its own. My teen son loves him some ramen and can really "hook them up" all sorts of ways with meats, veggies, cheeses, etc., but he has (as well as myself) fallen into love with these yummy noodles. I love mine with boiling coconut milk and a little water. I put in the seasoning packs and let it boil for about 2-3 minutes. I then add mushrooms and a little corn, boiling for 2-3 more minutes. I put in the noodle pack(s) and a few shrimp, let it come to a light boil, then turn the heat off and cover for 3-5 minutes. In about 8-10 minutes, I have delicious little meal for myself or use more packs and have a quick, great-tasting family meal!!! Tidbit..they are cheaper at some other online Asian places. So hopefully, the price will come down some on Amazon as well soon.
