50 Knit Aran Stitches (Leisure Arts #4530)

I'm very pleased with this book. I ordered it to learn about the honeycomb pattern for a cowl I saw in Dublin. It is jam packed with lovely cables and other types of interesting stitches. The book cover says fabulous and it is. The instructions for the various stitches are well thought out and include the number of stitches needed for the stitch and necessary side stitches. If you would like to try your hand at designing a project yourself, this is the book for you.

This book is well-organized and it is full of patterns. The patterns are set up with a minimal border to slip into any project design. The pictures are clear. A no fuss resource to flip and pick from.Edit: I am changing my review after using the book for awhile and reducing my stars to 4.The reason... There are no charts!I realized I really wanted charts and written patterns. I know it's a pain to chart cables, but sometimes it is necessary to see how the stitches relate to each other. The written pattern is in big print and the charts could have easily fit on the pattern pages.

A host of different Aran stitches - mainly cables which were published in magazines over a period of years. The new photos are very clear, as are the directions for making the designs. NOTE - this is not a pattern book, so you will have to design your own item and apply the Aran design to it.

I like this book, it is easy to follow and gives great ideas for cable knitting. Lots of pictures and easy to follow text. Worth the money.

I love the Leisure Arts craft books. I recently learned how to cable knit, but find that so many cable knit patterns are written in a confusing way but this book continues it's reputation of providing excellent colored pictures of the final product with easy to follow knitting instructions.

Wonderful gift for a knitting niece.

This is a great book for anyone who loves cable knitting. Having so many stitches to choose from can widen your possibilities for making your own designs. I find it perfect for Aran stitches!

I absolutely love this book. Especially the way it tells you in detailed instruction how to perform each stitch pattern. With my aging eyes, trying to read little charts is no longer an option.

This is an excellent book for learning and using aran/cable stitches. I bought it for my sister-in-law, who is keen to learn cable knitting and was so impressed that I bought a copy for myself! Stitch patterns are well decribed, with clear photos. I am an experienced knitter who loves to knit arans, so this is a great book for me, too, to add to my library. I would reccommend it for anyone who likes to experiment with or extend their knitting skills

A very good referencer for all sorts of Aran stitches.My only criticism is that all the instructions are for flat knitting, with no instructions for knitting in the round. This makes things tricky when cabling occurs on the wrong side. As you might see from the photos the Rapunzel cables I've tried to knit in the round have come out a bit sloppy.

A beautiful range of Aran stitches to produce your own panels or garments. Very clear and concise instructions with nice illustrations. Recommended.
