We love this playdough! In comparison to traditional play dough made with wheat flour, the texture is slightly gritty (sandy), which is to be expected since many gluten free breads are often that way as well. This dough is pleasantly scented with essential oils that compliment the colors. Green has a lemon lime scent, orange is orange citrus, yellow is lemon, brown is root beer, white is vanilla, etc. The only problem is that it triggers the appetite and your child may be tempted to eat it when you aren't looking! I am training to receive my certification in aromatherapy. Most essential oils aren't safe for consumption. I suggest you take that into consideration when purchasing these products that contain them. Citrus oils are photosynthetic and can cause a sensitivity when your child is exposed to sunlight after absorption of the oils. They can also get into the eyes and membranes of the nose, causing burning and irritation. So I advise everyone purchasing these doughs to supervise your younger child when they play with them and keep them away from pets. Some are very toxic to animals. Make sure your child washes hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling the doughs. The colors are nice, but some are muted while others are more intense. This dough dries quickly on the surface, so I suggest you knead the dough frequently to remoisten. The drier it gets, the more it has a tendency to crumble. The oils actually help keep the dough pliable and probably extends the life of the dough. If you knead it each time before putting back into its container for storage, it will retain moisture and stay closer to its original texture when new longer. We've had to throw away a few pieces that we left laying out too long. It looks like we will be making this purchase again in the future.

As other reviewers have said, this dough is expensive but definitely worth it for an easy, good smelling, allergy friendly alternative to Play Dough. I've tried to make a gluten free dough for her in the past and it definitely doesn't come anywhere close to the quality of this! My daughter loves that she can now play with modeling dough in our home (I have Celiac and we keep a gluten free household), and I love that this keeps her happy and occupied for nearly an hour. The colors are nice, the texture isn't grainy or gross, and it smells lovely.

We are a celiac family / gluten allergic So I was looking for a nice play dough for my daughter's 5th birthday. I absolutely loved these, the dough works well for molding, cutting, slicing and creative play. The clean up is easy , it doesn't stain furniture or clothes. It last well maintaining it's "mold-ability. I love I don't have to worry over gluten exposure, which could be a possibility -we opened them at a party with several adults in attendance and of course these scents are so wonderfully tempting, and right on - not fake and chemically -that an "uncle" just had to taste to try them out ! These were so wonderful I ordered the bigger 10 set just for the extra scents, I find them wonderfully relaxing ( yes, I am enjoying squeezin and rolling them around myself. )

These are small, powerfully scented, and dry out fast. If food allergies didn't necessitate my purchase, I wouldn't have bought it. If you're sensitive to smells, don't buy this.

Our kiddo has a possible wheat allergy so I was nervous about most play dough. Even the review I found to make your own contained (possible) allergens. This is an awesome product! I bought it when he was about 1.5 and he was finely about getting his hands messy so we started stamping with cookie cutters. Now at 2 he's all up in it! It's very scented and he loves to smell it so it's a total sensory experience. It does start to dry out a tiny bit after a couple uses so I periodically wet my hands and knead it a little before putting the lid back on and it's perfect for the next use. It does not stain and comes out of clothes easily- a plus!Click yes if this was helpful!

This is the best non toxic play doh I have found. I have tried others and was disappointed in the texture.This has the consistency of the name brand "play doh". It is also scented lightly which is nice. I have been trying different play dohs for my grandson who doesn't normally like to touch it. He was diagnosed with Autism and has some sensory processing issues. He likes to put it in his mouth but he actually smelled this and rolled a few pieces around. I also purchased the Alex wooden play doh tools to go with this. I am optimistic with this combo that this will help with his fine motor skills and sensory.

I prefer Dexterity Dough, which is also food grade organic, non toxic. But I couldn't find that on Amazon, so I ordered this. I like that it is non-toxic and the aroma is nice. I don't like that it is crumbly and messy compared to Dexterity Dough. However its texture and crumbling is a lot like Play Dough brand that most people expect. Perhaps it will stay fresher longer than Dexterity Dough. Time will tell.

This stuff is awesome. I’ve tried to make it for my daughter using two different recipes. One was very sticky and made a mess and the other dried out quickly. My daughter has been using this in kindergarten every day for the last 3 months and is still on the first color! (Once this one dries out I’ll send her the next color). Definitely worth the money and I’m usually very frugal.
