Review "Creating an 'authentic' teenage voice is one of the big challenges in YA writing and this is where Pratt really excels. Her characters are smart, funny, flawed and very real." --The Bookseller"Relatable, witty and warming, Remix has characters that shine through its pages." --Teenage Magazine"A hugely enjoyable and accessible read, with its dynamic short chapters, but one that also has some real depth and intelligence. I cannot wait to see what this talented author will do next." --The School Librarian About the Author Non Pratt grew up in Teesside and now lives in London. Her debut novel, Trouble, was shortlisted for the YA Book Prize and the Branford Boase. It was also longlisted for the Carnegie. Read Trouble instead
I try to find something to enjoy in most books but I am sorry to say I liked nothing about Remix, and this is coming from someone who enjoyed Non Pratt's Trouble very much. I disliked both Kaz and Ruby and their friends, and the frantic switching between charcater points of views really irritated me. I got about half way before I realised I had better books to read. There was also as far as I could tell absolutely no plot. Not for me, I'm afraid, and I struggle to find anything good to say about it as I was thoroughly bored. Read Trouble instead.

Easy read but not great
Original premise, a lot of potential for a great story however was let down by the poor narrative. Although this book was easy to get through it was difficult to picture many of the characters as little to no effort was put into describing them. Around halfway through the book some character traits are described however in some cases its too little too late. As a reader its difficult to understand the meaning of the discourse when we do have the contextual knowledge to back it up. I was very confused due to these grey areas in the text. Overall i feel this novel could've gone deeper and i feel that the unrealistic plot twists where verging on fanfiction rather than a serious publication. Prehaps this novel would be better suited to teens aged 14/16 however the inappropriate themes may not work for this age group.

Whirlwind of teenage romance and drama
Not long after reading Trouble, I realised that Non had a nack for writing YA fiction, and she does it so very well! Never having been to a festival myself, I still managed to understand, experience and delve right into the middle of Remix as if I knew what it was really like. The constant drama between the characters lives reminds me of my teenage years so well, with the omission of Sexy Wexy of course! The whole book is written so well you can really feel the emotion that each character goes through, and imagine yourself as if you are a fly on the wall of the whole weekend.Great read, couldn't put it down! Looking forward to the next one!

Excellent second book
I loved Trouble and second books can often be a let down but non pratt really delivers with this one. Definitely the book to read at the end of your GCSEs you'll be hyped up and ready for the summer by the end.

Festival fun - great read
This was a fun story, told from two perspectives. I enjoyed the festival setting and liked most of the characters. It's interesting the way friendship and relationships can change over the course of one weekend...

Three Stars
Preferred 'Trouble'. Found this book a little predictable but still moderately enjoyable.
