The waist on these are very tight. I bought the correct size and my is very skinny too. We tried stretching them but the elastic is pretty strong so at least you know they won't fall down.I also have a problem with one of the poppers round the ankle. One fits perfect and the other doesn't hold.It's not a bad product as it keeps my son dry on his daily walks but it could be better.

Very good value
I got some for my 6.5 year old deciding to size up to 7-8 as he’s big for his age. Waist is fitted, they are a tiny bit long but can be rolled up easily. Thicker than I expected, I don’t think they will rip easily. We will be taking them to a theme park this weekend where it is likely to drizzle but I’m sure they’ll do the job. They’re actually a lot better than I expected them to be!

These do the job well.Bought to keep kids clothes dry during water play when the weather is cool but found they're very good over clothes during sand pit play as well - no more dragging sand through the house!Update:Dropping 2 stars due to material quality/durability. The knees kept ripping. I've tried repairing them a couple of times by sewing and by special glue/tape, but due to the material type, they just keep ripping again so unfortunately they got binned before they were outgrown.Not suited to toddlers who's outdoor play can feature crawling (e.g. crawling behind toy trucks they're pushing as they're playing). For this, the rubberised dungarees from other retailers has worked better.

Thick, nice quality
Nice thick quality, good colour, with buttons at the bottom to fit tighter around wellies. I bought age 8-9 for "just 8 yr old". The elastic around the waste is quite fitted, I would say my daughter was fairly standard size, if my daughter was a little "rounder" I would go up a size as could be quite tight and uncomfortable. The length is a good, however I am not against rolling up trousers so they last longer as they grow!
