La Riche Directions Hair Colour - Plum 88ml Tub

I have brown hair and can't afford to bleach it anymore but wanted a crazy color and tried this after reading the reviews and it gave it a purple tint that was very noticeable outside whether it was overcast or sunny. And over a month later I'm still getting comments on my purple hair and I wash it every two or three days. Longest lasting hair color I've ever gotten! I bought the violet which is a lighter shade than the plum and am waiting for this to wash out more before I try that out and hoping it'll be more noticeable inside and outside.

Washed out and stained my hair green!! Will never use again.

Pros:It finally got my dark brown hair to have a deep plum purple that I've been trying to obtain for months now. The color is perfect and I get a lot of compliments on it.Doesn't smell horrid.Goes on easily. It's nice a thick so dripping wasn't an issue.Cons:Well...it stains. (Obviously) I know they all stain, but OMG, this stains something awful. You know how you can rinse your hair in the shower and normal dye will rinse off the tile and your body pretty easily since you're standing under a decent flow of water? Yeah, this doesn't do that. I had purple skin from head to toe that I had to SCRUB off. Plain soap and a bath puff did NOT remove a darn thing. Do not exfoliate before dying your hair; you will need that extra layer of skin for when you have to scrub it off. I had to use the rough side of a dish sponge and that hurt after awhile. I ended up using bleach on my skin as well as the shower. Bleach took it right out, thank god...I really didn't want to have to re-grout the tile or go to work looking like Grimace. Bleach is an absolute MUST for this product. Also, I would wash my hair in a sink or outside with a hose, not the shower.It keeps staining. While I appreciate it's long life on my hair, I do not appreciate that when I run my fingers through my hair, my hand is purple. My neck is purple EVERY DAY. My clothes are purple. This stuff keeps rubbing off and I obviously wash it! It's summer and I can't put my hair up because I always have purple skin. I just tried a vinegar rinse which is supposed to stop that, so we'll see. I also shampooed my hair twice last night to see if that helps. Honestly, if you're going to use this, don't dye the underside of your hair.If I can get the purple to stop rubbing off, I would use this product again. Otherwise, I'll have to come up with something else.

This is a great color and overall great product. My favorite two are Plum and Dark Tulip. I love the way it looks on bleached hair, and it's so pigmented that you don't even need to use very much. After bleached areas had grown out, I decided to touch up my color and the plum as well as Dark Tulip even changed the tint on the grow-out of my light brown hair. This is definitely a color I'd get again. Currently am in the planning stage of using this just on unbleached hair to see how it tints and colors.

I think royal purple is more accurate. These tubs are so tiiiiiny, luckily plum is a strong color so it can be diluted. I accidentally spilled like 1/4 of this on the floor and it sure did stain well! I used probably 1/2 a full container (I didn't measure and like I said, I spilled some) diluted with a lot of silicone free conditioner on my shoulder length bleached hair and it came out a really rich and deep color. I ended up with a lot of blue streaks too and eventually it faded to a lovely baby blue. I would recommend this if you're looking for a dark blue based purple.

The color was nice, but I was looking for something that would last longer. Just about gone after three shampoos.

Finally... a DARK PURPLE that is true to it's name.After many months of trying to find a color similar to Special Effects Deep Purple, and being disappointed by virtually every brand out there, I finally got great results with Directions Plum!I used the dye on light bleached hair, and the result was a gorgeous, deep (almost black) purple. If you're looking for the deepest purple on the market - go with Directions Plum. It is highly pigmented, so wearing gloves is a good idea when applying this product.

Nice color, easy to apply, clear instructions. Used on already dyed (and originally dark brown) hair with highlights (already another fading shade of purple). It's not a large amount, but if you have medium length hair and want to do it all over (and not just a streak or two), it will likely still last you 4+ times.
