Not Intended For Human Consumption
Have you grown a beard in a vain attempt to assert your rugged manliness on demand? Have you found that after the New-Beard Honeymoon Phase wore off, your beard became a symbol of your unruly, child-like free spirit, sending your Lower-Face Game from GQ to P.U. after just a couple lonely winter weeks? You find the wall of whiskers you originally built to neatly tuck away your insecurities was nothing more than a cheap facade that crumbled with the first passing breeze. Your insecurities now spill from you uncontrollably, like spaghetti spilling from the pockets of Chef Boyardee. Your personal badge of pride now mocks you each time you pass a mirror - growing more and more tangled - eventually weaving itself into a grotesque bird's nest of which only the most deranged feathered beast would roost.I was like you once. That was before Mountaineer Brand Cedar-Scented Natural Beard Oil came into my life! With just a dime-sized drop of this expertly Handcrafted All-Natural Beard Oil rubbed into my whisker thicket, my beard Looks Shiny, Feels Soft, and Stays Hydrated for days. Mountaineer Brand Natural Beard Oil not only conditions your beard, but also the skin underneath, controlling dandruff and relieving you of the dreaded Beard-Itch. I apply once every few days but it can be used more often as long as any residual oils are washed out before reapplying.Did I mention, once applied, the oil will have you smelling like you were just laid off from a saw mill? With the most delicate balance of Cedar and Fir Needle essential oils, the scent invigorates but never overpowers. Seriously folks, you'll smell like you just walked out of the woods after single-handedly building a log cabin on your day off. This Oil wasn't made for Beards, Beards were made for this Oil.I ordered a couple of other brands of Beard Oils along with the Mountaineer Brand and after trying each of them once, I left the others to be forgotten in the dark, dirty part under the sink. The only flaw with the Mountaineer Brand is mouth of the bottle. It's similar to squeezable salad dressing bottles but less farty. With this being a bottle of oil, it quickly gets messing on the inside of the cap and eventually the whole bottle is slick and sticky - albeit wonderfully scented. One of the others I had purchased had an unscrewable eyedropper for the lid eliminating any need to wash the bottle down after each use. This is something I hope the folks at Mountaineer will resolve soon because it is honestly the only drawback -though not a big enough deal for me to discontinue using their product. What it all boils down to: If you have a Beard, and you don't use Mountaineer Brand Natural Beard Oil..is it really a Beard at all?Give your Beard what it deserves.Overall:Outstanding Product, A Must-Have For Any Respectable Beard Owner.5/5 Bananas

Changed up to Coal - Overall, I am happy again with the Mountaineer brand products
I have been buying the Mountaineer brand beard oil (in WV Timber) since it first came about. I would say that I have maybe gone through 20 bottles or so in that timeframe, feeling that it is a great product at fair price. I also like their beard shampoo as well and have at least gone through 10 of these as well. It is has got to the point that by each for me as gifts during the holiday season. With all that being said, I decided to give the WV Coal version a try to change things up (both in the beard oil and the beard shampoo). First came the shampoo, the scent in my opinion is a mix of a number of scents but peppermint and patchouli stand out prominently. To me, this is a very pleasant scent and while the strength of the shampoo aroma dissipates after the shower there is still a light scent that remains.Upon receiving the beard oil, this too had the same scent as the shampoo but where it differs is that the scent remains nicely strong. With the Timber, the scent was very light and, in my opinion, somewhat neutral shortly after applying it. With the Coal, I am getting a nice aroma routinely after wearing all day or after sleeping on it overnight. The Coal is a keeper for me although I did experience an issue that made this test somewhat satisfying. I have yet to experience and issue with leaking during shipment, and especially since they moved to the sealed poly bag for the containers several years back. Everything has arrived without issue. In the case of the Coal beard oil, everything seemed good, no leakage, clean sealed poly bag, but the bottle felt drastically less in weight than I am used to. It just so happens that I had a full Timber that I had ordered accidentally the day before, so it was easy to make the comparison between the two. Aside from weighing less, the Coal bottle was not filled like the Timber bottle and appeared to be about a ~1/4” or so less in the container. Maybe I just got one that there was an accident with, or someone took some for themselves off the line. This is a first offense and given their years of service to me is worthy of a pass. As I buy more over time, I will comeback and readjust should there be a continued issue.Three things I would like to see as a long time consumer of the Mountaineer brand products:1) The ability to buy larger bottles or multipacks at a slight discount (similar to the two packs offered for the Timber version of the oil).2) And for the beard shampoo; while I really like the stopper installed in the bottle (because it works great, when it works) it rarely stays in the bottle and most times comes off and remains logged in the screw off cap. It is likely that a proper flip cap could solve this issue. Still a great product, just save me some time the frustration of having to glue the stopper into each new bottle I get.3) Keep up the good work; you provide a great product at a great price point. Well done!

I'm comflicted!
I am not 100% sold on this scent yet..it's not unpleasant at all..it smells like fresh lumber at home depot..but it's different than the "pine tar" I'm used too.I did like the consistency of this oil..and it feels thick..and has certainly smoothed and moisturized my beard..I believe the scent will grow on my as I wear it..I hope it also has some "staying power"!If you like fresh..natural scents..this could be for you..I personally lean more towards citrus or spice scents..apple is ALWAYS good..
