Loved it

This book arrived with heavy highlighting and in dark colors making it difficult to read. The product did not indicate that heaving highlighting was present in the book, and if I had know I would have not purchased. Given this, I feel the price was too much and would have appreciated knowing it condition in greater detail. I did not exceed the condition described in the listing.

Great book

'...Baker reveals that “codeswitching is a frequent behavior among bilinguals, with a variety of valuable purposes and benefits” (Baker 2011, p. 112). For myself, I relied on code-switching with Spanish-speaking students to help build a connection with them and help them feel more at ease around me, and also to insure understanding of difficult concepts or during times of stress. I code-switched into Spanish with my English-speaking students to increase their exposure to Spanish, particularly during times of the day when we were doing a small group activity without one of the Spanish-language models. Using this extensively for my college course. Perfect to buy online because the physical copies are so expensive!

It is a very well written book; written in a way that is accessible to those who have little academic/ professional experience in bilingual education and is also deep enough for those who work in high positions who influence and or control reform or policy within their institutes.

Brilliant book for uni level- second language unit. Very usefull. Value for money

I bought this before writing an essay for my PGCE. I personally found its layout hard to read and thought it repeated itself a fair bit, but did have some very useful parts.

Essential for my research

This is a must have for anyone who are interested in bilingualism and bilingual education. It gives very detailed explanations with examples as well. Highly recommended.
