EdenPURE® Elite Heater Trusted Comfort New Quartz Infrared Heater

Bought this for my daughter at college. She keeps it in her room, which is only about 10x12, and doesn't take much to heat up. However, it really spiked her electric bill.

I have a medium open living/dining area with high ceilings. I, like most wanted something to help with the heating costs. This machine worked well during the day when I had it running on high with the fireplace going and would warm the room to 70-71 degrees. At night, I put the central gas heat on 64, turned off the fireplace and left the Edenpure running on high. When I woke up, the room was 64, just as I had set the thermostat on the central heat. So needless to say, it did not work at all as the main heat was kicking on. I also do not like the fact that there is no digital thermostat but just several lines to indicate the level of heat and there is no timer. I actually have ordered another similar unit from Home Depot that has both of these features, has two more additional heating elements and is supposed to heat up a 1500 sq foot room and only cost $259 with free shipping. And of course the added bonus of being able to return it directly to the local store if I do not like it. This Edenpure I purchased is rated to heat 1000 sq feet. So, I personally cannot recommend this product.

I bought 2! The heater works very well. We run it in the room where our TV and thermostat are located. It raises the temperature to around 72 degrees, which keeps the heat from coming on. As long as we stay in that room, it's nice. The rest of the 1st floor of the house gets very cold unless we run the second heater in another room. These are idea for trailers or small homes. If you have a bigger house you may want to buy a couple of them but, would you really be saving any money then???.

So far I am using it as a 2nd heat source, after my propane furnace. It's quiet, cool to the touch, easy to use.The only thing I've wished for is that it had a digital temperature control, so you could leave it set at a certain temp while you were out of the house.I expect to keep using it throughout the winter (I live in northern Michigan)...REALLY like that it's made in the U.S., and getting it through Amazon/Fed Ex made it very easy, too...

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS HEATER. I RECEIVED THE HEATER, PLUGGED IT IN AND IT WORKED FOR THREE DAYS. IT QUITE MAKING HOT AIR SO I CALLED THE COMPANY. IT TOOK 10 DAYS TO GET A SHIPPING LABEL TO SEND IT BACK. I DID GET THE HEATER BACK IN ABOUT 4 DAYS. THEY SAID THEY REPLACED A BOARD IN THE BACK OF THE HEATER BUT NOW THE REMOTE DOES NOT WORK WITH THE HEATER BECAUSE THEY CHANGED THE BOARD AND DID NOT SEND ME A REMOTE THAT WOULD WORK WITH IT. I SENT THE ORIGINAL REMOTE BACK WITH THE HEATER AND APPARENTLY THEY DID NOT CHECK TO SEE THAT IT WAS COMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW BOARD. I CALLED THE COMPANY AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD GET A SHIPPING LABEL TO SEND THE REMOVE BACK SOMETIME IN THE NEW 7-10 DAYS OR SOMEONE WILL CALL ME. I AM STILL WAITING.WHEN YOU CALL THE COMPANY YOU ARE NOT SURE WHERE THE CALL IS GOING. I HAVE TALKED TO THEM AND THEY ARE NOT VERY HELPFUL. I HAVE ASKED SEVERAL QUESTIONS THAT THEY CANNOT ANSWER ABOUT THEIR PRODUCT.THE REASON I CHOSE EDENPURE US-1000 WAS BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THEY ARE MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. IS THIS THE BEST WE CAN DO? I GUESS I SHOULD OF GOT ONE OF THE ONES MADE IN ASIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very happy with my new Edenpure heater. I especially like the fact that it was made in the USA. I alreadyhave one Edenpure heater that I use at the present. I was amazed at the warm feeling heat that the unit produces.The biggest advantage was the reduction in my heat bill. I can safely say my electric bill dropped by 1/3. I likedthe performance of my first heater so much, I decided to add a second. I rate the heater itself very high. The matter that gave me fits was the vender I bought through. In the description and specifications listed for theheater it stated free shipping. The vender ProMax Commerce would not back-up their own word on the heater. I hadto pay the shipping, they would not budge. This is a note I would like to add on, I've had the heater for a little over a year. I needed to send back for service. ProMax Commerce is not an authourized dealer. Edenpure does not service units sold by them. Just a word of advice.

I bought this ion march 5th 2014 -- it is now Apr 7th 2014 -- it made noises but needed the heat so thought it was just me -- had to move to another plug -- it blew out the plug sparks all around -- breakers went off -- could have gotten one from another company -- saw name and thought got a edenpure guess wrong

This heater has worked perfectly so far for this first month. It warms my living room to a very comfortable temperature without requiring the heat pump to heat the entire house. Only thing I worry about is if the heater is on when the electricity goes out, will that damage my unit?I had a few other questions concerning the warranty on the unit and called Benjays. They were very thorough and very nice. There was a question as to who I should return this product to if I should have to do so as well as where to send the warranty registration. Again, BenJays was very nice and answered all my quesitons. I also called Edenpure and they were not that helpful.
