SafeNdry Rechargeable & Reusable Gun Safe Dehumidifier & Moisture Eliminator, X-Large

I'm not thrilled with this desiccant. It only last 5 or 6 days before completely pink and I shake it every so often to expose more crystals. Baking to reset it takes every bit of 3 hours, IF, you pick it up and shake it around. Perhaps I'm expecting too much for a 30 gun safe stored in a Houston Texas garage. I will need to find a better solution.

It is a pretty decent quantity of desiccants, so the container is large (fine by me, but might be a concern for others). The unit lacks symmetrical air holes around it, which results in only a small portion of your beads getting air contact. I used a 1/2" hole drilling bit, and punched holes all the way around the unit, to correct that. Otherwise, it would be 5 stars. It is great that you can bake the beads in the bag provided too, so you don't make a inevitable huge bead mess everywhere.

Just got these in the safe today so I can't comment on how well they are going to work. I wanted to comment on the shotgun shell case itself. Another reviewer stated that it may work better with holes along the side. I ordered 2 of these and they do have holes along the sides of the casing to allow better airflow now. Maybe they redesigned the case now.Update:. They are working as advertised. Bake at 200 until blue, back in the case again.Another update after being used a couple of months. I had one bag in the toaster oven as I had before but I left it in at 175 degrees for 2 hours and the bag turned brown and it crumbled in my hands. Now I don't have any way to use it. I don't think the bag is designed to survive high temps as designed and I had it at a low temp.

Works very well and I like that you can see how much moisture all the beads have absorbed. The only problem with the item is since it is only open at the top the beads at the top absorb a lot faster then everything else. Usually every once in a while a open it up and redistribute the beads around to even it out. Probably would help if they put some openings on the side of the case. Maybe in the next version.

Using this in my gun cabinet and really like it. Have recharged it and it works just like advertised. The shotgun shell shape is just an added plus.

Really cool design. This desiccant has a way better look than the tin can i used to buy. The fact that its plastic means it won't scratch my guns. I also like how the beads change color to indicate they are saturated. All you have to do once they are pink is place the bag on a cookie tray and put in the over at 240 degrees for around 3 hours or until the beads are blue. Reactivation frequency will vary on the moisture in the air. I looked at the plug in alternatives but didn't like the price point or the 10 hour down time for it to recharge.

I like the look of it, but it seems like the crystals turn pink quickly. It's partially because I'm trying to use it in a small closet. (About 2'x2'x8'). The DE-humidifiers that plug into the wall to recharge are much more convenient. This would take up a lot of room in a safe.

So far so Good!!I will likely be buying a 2nd one soon just for the added protection. Its a small price to pay!
