Well built and it works.
Every thing seems to sturdy. The box is made of metal and the cap is plastic. The cao snaps closed so is seems to be waterproof. The connection seems to be solid. No issues when running the house on the generator. Looks good. I would recommend this product.

Well made and solid construction
Easy to install as long as you use the shortest amount of wire to press into the receptacle after your connections are secure. Otherwise it is a bear to bend #6AWG wire to fit inside. Using the 12 inch ground wire as the length is a good measure for the other wire lengths. The knock out had to be massaged with a pair of pliers to get a good opening.

Good quality Disconnect box!
I looked at several options to tie my generator into the house box, and settled on an interlock device, and this disconnect for the generator. As some have stated, it's a bit of a challenge when working with 6 gauge wire, but it's not beyond the average users ability to wire it up. Don't be scared, it will fit easily if you follow the directions and cut the wires to 2" and strip 5/8" from the ends.I took off one star for the woefully inadequate grounding stud on the cover. If it doesn't break off during install, I would break it off on purpose, and drill the hole out to 1/4" and either change the wiring lugs out to ones that will fit over a 1/4" bolt, or what I did was to hold the lugs firmly in a pair of pliers and drill the lugs to 1/4". The result is a ground that will actually hold the ground wires for decades. After inserting the wires and torquing them to the specified torque it was fairly easy to tuck the wires up into the box and secure the cover. A click & twist of the generator to box cable & I was in business. I tested the cable with a multimeter, as well as at the breaker in the main panel, and the voltage was spot on.This box is very sturdy in it's construction. The cover is another story. If you are mounting this outside in the elements, I would suggest installing the optional heavy duty cover. The included plastic unit is very flimsy, and I can imagine fumbling with a heavy gauge cable in the dark during a power outage and breaking the cover easily in situation like this. My generator is in a sound damping enclosure, so the box is actually "inside" and will stay connected permanently, so the cover shouldn't be an issue for me.After turning off ALL breakers to include the main 200 amp breaker, I threw the interlock switch to energize the panel, and with the exception of the heat pump I was running the entire house to include the well pump and water heater (10k starting/8500 running watts). If you're considering this box don't hesitate. It's a solid piece with quality electrical components that I feel very confident about using for extended periods of generator use.Don't worry about the wiring challenges, it's a breeze if you take your time & follow the instructions. Change out that grounding post and you're set!

The media could not be loaded. Works great. I partnered this with the Conntek 1450SS2 cable (http://amzn.to/1j0kfv6) and its working perfectly. I would recommend this box with the cable as the fit is right on the money. Fits snug, but is not too difficult to lock into place as I've seen others comment about a different brand box. This all ties together with the DuroMax XP10000EH 18HP Dual Fuel Propane/Gas generator for a really nice little setup, much cheaper than a standby unit overall. My setup:DuroMax XP12000EH Generator - https://amzn.to/2MEp5RAConntek 1450SS2-15 15-Foot Power Cord - http://amzn.to/1j0kfv6Conntek ISI 80SS2-GYBX Transfer Switch Power Inlet Box - http://amzn.to/1l9LHrwReliance THP108 PowerBack Utility Power Return Alert - http://amzn.to/20xTv6F

Better than Reliance PB50 in my opinion.
This box has the connector oriented properly to fit the Camco 55574 right-angle connector cord so that it hangs straight down (the Reliance PB50 didn't, nor could it be rotated to a position that worked)There is also more room in this box to accommodate #6 wiring. While the Reliance PB50 did have a (perhaps heavier-duty) "Marinco" branded connector, a spring-loaded cover, and was UL listed; I believe this Conntek is sufficient quality and better overall (for my purposes).I had no trouble with the (admittedly tiny) ground post, just be careful with the wire routing and don't over-torque the nyloc nut securing the ground wires to it.

Room for wiring
The box is well built. Good coating and cover seal. I wired it with #8 gauge wire and was difficult due to limited depth on box. Knock-outs were difficult to remove.

Nicely Made
This is a compact weather tight receptacle which is reasonably priced.
