Makes being good at running seem attainable for non-athlete types like me!
Really excellent book.I'm sure there are others out there written by semi-professional runners - but those tend to be geared towards people with an obsession about the science of running.I'm a potato. I hated PE at school. But i recognise the need to get moving as I get older and when faced with a list of possible exercises to choose from, running seems to the best of a bad bunch. I tried the C25K app and felt it was going well, but I just got sort of stuck on week 7.I read this though and felt truly inspired to keep at it.Because Nell doesn't gloss over the fact that you have to work at running, it makes you realise that if she can get better at it, so can anyone. We are able to pick up advice and learn from her experiences - a woman, a mum, a wife, a non-athlete who didn't find it easy at times, but achieved amazing results. And ultimately she enjoyed her runs!I know the book was written quite some time ago, but I strongly recommend it to any mum's out there who are starting to take up running.

Great running book!
This is a must buy book if you are a runner, thinking about being a runner, or used to run and have any inkling at all that you might want to run again. Its presentation is refreshingly light weight, and it's very user friendly, with the font, layout and photos being very appealing. Content-wise it seems to have it all covered from training to run a 5k to running while pregnant and the index and contents page make it great as a read from cover to cover book or a reference book.If you feel stopped at all and want to be empowered to run regardless of you circumstances and reasons not to, get this book and see what opens up!

Inspired me to get my trainers on again
I know...what is there to write about? Right foot, left foot, repeat...But this book is really good. Has details of stretches, how to ease out muscular tension or injuries, diet, suggestions of different races and plans to help you conquer everything from your first 5k to a full marathon, which I won't be trying! As a 'novice' runner of 10 years (!) it has helped inspire me to get more serious about my fitness.

Disappointing
I was hoping for a book about running, rather than recommendations for sports shops and personal trainers. There are bits about running, and encouragements, but there's an awful lot of padding.
