Le bleu est une couleur chaude (French Edition)

Beautiful
This book is lovely. The art is beautiful and I feel like the story and characters have a lot of depth and realism. My French is only at a lower-intermediate level but I found it easy enough to follow what was going on. The story contains a lot of happiness but also profound sadness, so if you are looking for a bright and happy tale this may not be for you. Some parts are absolutely heart-wrenching.I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a way to practice reading French

Good Pick for Learning French
I'm learning French and after seeing this movie and hearing it was based on this book, I decided to buy the book. I would never have thought to purchase a graphic novel but I very much enjoyed struggling through the langage to read this book. It's better than reading a book with no pictures. The art is beautiful. The story is interesting.

The Kindle Edition is illegible.
All the other reviews (at least as I write this one) are about the paperback edition, my complaint is about the Kindle edition. The book itself is fine (as was the film), but the Kindle edition is illegible. Even on a large screen, the text (as drawn in the panels) is roughly the size 7 point type. None of the usual Kindle type size adjustments has any effect, and in the end the book is impossible to read. Save your money.

Sublime
An hymn celebrating love in its emotional universality and in its physical individuality. I loved every single page of it and everyone should read it.

The most beautiful love story of modern times
I must admit, I'm usually pretty skeptical about graphic novels, as I find they remove a lot of the element of imagination that a book gives the reader, but after seeing the film, I felt that I needed to get the book, to see how it was told. I've read a lot of books, and recently a lot of love stories, but something about this book just sets it apart from all the others I've read. It's not because it's about two women, or even the ending in particular, though it does finish just beautifully. But it's just all throughout so painfully real, sad and perfect that the reader is totally swept away.

Chaude indeed
I had 'Le bleu est une couleur chaude' in my wish list for a long time. Never bought until very recently, just after watching the extraordinary Abdellatif Kechiche version for cinema - 'La vie d'Adèle'. It is an excellent bande dessiné novel with great art work. I would recommend it without hesitation.
