3/4 hp 1075 RPM 3-Speed 48 Frame 115V Direct Drive Furnace Motor # EM3589

The motor arrived in 3 days but without the capacitor. It took about 3 more days to get the capacitor but still within the expected shipping time. The packaging was minimal but did have fragile labels on all sides. As long as it doesn't get dropped on the shaft end, it should arrive OK. There is no documentation except the wiring diagram that is on the motor.The shaft end play was more than I like at 0.056" so I added a shim washer in the motor to get it down to the 0.005" to 0.020" range. Some blowers don't have much side clearance for the wheel and can be noisy if the shaft end play is too large. The end play as received will probably not be a problem for most installations.The oil holes are not drilled in this motor so it is lubed for life. Most techs say to oil the motor every year but I think every 3 to 5 years is OK. The motor is not likely to last as long as one that can have oil added. Since I had the motor apart anyway, I used a drill press to drill 1/8" oil holes in the end bells. The locations for the holes are cast into the end bells.I checked the oil packing around the bearings and the fill was not as much as I expected. When I opened the motor, I saw that a lot of the oil packing had been pushed past the bearing areas and into the motor. After pushing that packing back into the bearing areas, the fill looked about right.Be sure to remove the rubber mounting rings on each end of the motor if you are not using them to mount the motor. If one of them falls off in the blower, it is likely to cause some damage.Also reverse the four bolts for the end bells if you don't need them on the shaft end. It's best to mount the blower wheel as close to the motor as possible and the bolts will prevent that in many installations.Check that the reversing wire connections are fully pushed together. One on my motor was only partially inserted.Overall, the quality of the motor components looks fine. The assembly quality is OK but could be better. As shipped, I think it is a 5 year motor. If you have the ability to do some improvements, it will probably last 10 years or more.

The description lead me to believe it came with a capacitor but it does not.

I like the rapid installation and it came with a capacitor, only time will tell about the quality

It's an electric motor. What can I say? I hooked it up and it spins. Now the blower on my furnace works. It was an easy replacement. Wiring is simple, everything is color coded. New capacitor comes with it, which is good to have. Just make sure you get the right size before ordering. Came pretty quick too, packed good. I'm a happy warm camper.

Bought this motor to replace a condenser motor on ac unit. Install took about 30 minutes and was fairly easy. Sabe me a lot of money doing it myself.
