Great value
I used this converter on an old Logitech USB mouse, attached to an even older Compaq desktop PC. It worked, perfectly. This device may not work in all applications, but for what I needed, it was right choice.

Product did not work. I played with it an managed to have the red light work on the mouse but the computer did not except any input commands.

Works perfectly; AFTER reboot
Most of the negative reviewers here would likely change their reviews if they had shut down their system, attached whatever PS/2 compatible peripheral (not everything works with PS/2 anymore, especially powered/lit accessories), and THEN started the PC.PS/2 is not designed to be a hot-swappable interface and it's fundamentally different from USB - the peripheral must be intentionally designed to be backward compatible with PS/2 for this dongle to work properly. Do not expect it to allow any USB keyboard or mouse to work properly. However, if you're like me and use a keyboard, mouse, and old-school trackball, then this is the perfect accessory to free up an extra USB port on the back of your computer.

Misleading
Pictures are misleading. I thought there were two of these. THERE IS ONLY ONE!

These adapters do not work with all kinds of optical mouses
All of the reviews saying these are junk and did not work are from people that do not know this.

Does not work with all mice.
I tried this adapter with several different mice from different suppliers. Among them were Microsoft (2 pieces), Logitech (1 piece), and Vicsing (1 piece). The two Microsoft mice both worked properly. The other two mice did not. It can be noted that all were wired optical mice. The optic emitter on the two that did not work failed to light up. I have ordered more Microsoft mice to see if I can still use the adapters.
