USimplySeason Xawaash Spice (2.4 oz) - East African Cuisine Inspired, Vibrant Blend, Perfect for Rubs, Marinades, and More - Vegan, Non-GMO, No-Salt, Made in USA

I've come across a couple of recipes calling for Xawaash (also known as Xawash) an herbal mixture originating from Somalia and Yemen. I like the flavor but have not found other Xawaash to compare it with. I checked two African Supermarkets here in town and neither had it or had heard of it. I ordered this from Amazon and have been pleased with the dishes I've made with it.

This is the best tasting seasoning I ever had. Glad to have it in my kitchen at my first apartment. Made cheffing it up so much more good like heaven.

Nice soup spice and very good heat so be careful if you use it to not add more jalapeno peppers, unless you like very very hot dishes.

First time trying this spice. I love the flavor it adds to my food without the sodium. I wish there was more for the price they are charging.

One of my sons is from Ethiopia and we love the cuisine. This spice mix is very tasty, and while I do use it in main dishes, I have found that it's great to use when I want to whip up a quick and flavorful side dish, such as a cold salad of white beans, tomatoes, and chick peas for example. Makes a delicious change from the usual (olive oil, a bit of sea salt, and pepper). It's definitely more flavorful than hot, which makes it approachable for people who can't take the heat of a mitmita for example. I will definitely order more of this when I run out.The review asked me to rate "Thickness" and "Warmth", which don't really make sense for a dry spice mix, but I gave them 5 stars anyway.

Great smell but mediocre taste.

I decided to buy this ketchup on a whim. I recently tried a German curry ketchup and decided that I like the flavor of sweet tomato flavor blended with a touch of spice. This ketchup sounded like a good alternative. It didn't disappoint! The flavor is a little spicier than the other ketchup I tried, but it is still pretty moderate. (I like a little heat and frequently leave the seeds in when I cook with chilies.)I also like that the listed ingredients are all ingredients that I use when I cook. They use sugar instead of corn syrup. I would actually prefer less sugar since tomatoes are already very sweet, but most kinds of ketchup include a sweetener of some kind.Overall, I rate this one highly because I like the balance of sweetness and spice.
