National Hardware DPV130 Swing N Stay Cafe Door Hinge in Brass

The hinges worked well. We used them on a swing gate to keep our dogs out of a portion of the house. There was enough adjustment to make the gap in the middle even and the tops of the doors the same height. Our doors are very light so they don't automatically close from any position to the center even after oiling the hinge pins, but this is understandable. All pieces look to be good quality. The hinges have a detent to stay in the open position.

I used this swing hinge to hang a full 6’ indoor shutter. It works perfectly and is sturdy enough to hold this antique, 20 lb. shutter. The hinge has detente to center the swing or 90 degrees to left or right. Installation was easy enough, but I don’t believe any instructions were included.

We had old bifold pantry doors that annoyed us due to a misalignment that made closing them a challenge. This product allowed me to remount the doors so they easily swing open and can be pushed closed with no effort. Problem is, these hinges require a very significant and noticeable gap at both top and bottom, which may not suit your decor or sense of proportion. Best this in mind if your existing doors occupy most or all of the door frame, since this means having to cut 2" off the bottom (or top), which absolutely pained me to do to perfectly fine stained pine doors.

I bought a similar set for $22 at ACE thinking this was a same day project. Well when it didn’t end up being a same day project, I lost a piece and bought this one set to replace it. At $8 a set still cheaper than what I paid. It’s also WAY higher quality. Ended up finding the missing piece and returning this one. Wish I would have waited and bought 2 sets from this seller instead

The media could not be loaded. I made my own doors we used 1 inch planks around the Border and screwed in a quarter inch plywood on each side of each door. Each door weighs roughly around 35 lbs, that's just a guess. They are pretty heavy each door. These hinges hold them perfectly with no problems. They swing back and forth with no problems. Each door is a foot wide by about five and a half feet tall.

The brackets are not 90 degrees, which means that there is stress on the bottom bracket and the doors do not swing freely. I had to remove the plastic parts and bend the brackets to 90 degrees in a vise. They now work as intended.

Good instructions on back of packaging makes it fairly easy to install. I used one set of hinges to make a swing-away gate to keep our old dog out of the kitchen while we're cooking. I made the gate using pocket screws and added a latch to keep him from pushing it open. Works great and stows out of the way when not in use, see pictures.
