The holder arrived looking exactly like the pics
I bought this to hold my Galaxy S7 Edge while filming short gunsmithing tutorials. The holder arrived looking exactly like the pics. It is made of 3 major components. The phone holder, the flexible arm, and the clamping base.1. The padded phone holder clamp holds my S7 with no problem. You have to be careful not to clamp the buttons on the side of the phone so you need to offset it in the clamp. The head is on a plastic coupling that swivels, tilts and pans for unlimited adjustment. 5 stars for adjustability2. The flexible arm. Its an honest 2 feet long and this thing is STRONG. It takes a bit of muscle to bend it into place, but once you get it there, it stays there. Even fully extended, it holds up my phone right where I put it without drooping. A note though, it must be attached to a solid, non moving base. It would wave like a wacky flailing arm inflatable tube man if you tried to attach it to a vehicle or similar moving object. This is strictly for stationary use. 5 stars for strength3. The clamp on base. This is the weak link in the system. While it holds the weight of the cell phone holder and cell phone, it does so just barely. And forget trying to clamp it to your bench and then adjust the arm. The amount of force needed to adjust the arm easily breaks the base clamp free every time. I've resigned myself to adjusting the arm first and then attaching it to the bench or desk. I am waiting to see how long before the base clamp simply breaks, I'd have paid a couple more dollars for aluminum vs. plastic. Time will tell about durability. 3 stars for weak sauce.Over all, I rate it 4 out of 5 stars and would recommend it to other users, making note of its strengths and short comings. Appears to be good quality, but didn't work for my mounting
This appears to be a pretty solid mount, but I was unable to find any flat surfaces in my vehicle to mount the clamp. I had high hopes it would work, but perhaps I'll figure out a use for it at home. I thought I might be able to clamp this on the side of my cup holder or on my console, but all those surfaces were curved at some point, so it wasn't possible to provide the full surface of the clamp with a a flat enough surface to provide a firm base. The "tube" portion of the arm appears to be tubular aluminum covered in plastic, so once it's bent in the desired shape, it should stay in that shape. The quality is acceptable, but for me, it just wouldn't work in my vehicle. It looks like my only option may be a windshield mount, which is not desirable since I don't like obstructing any part of my windshield view. Will keep looking for something that works - perhaps a cup holder mount, which is also not as desirable.

This thing is a life saver, specially for gamers!
This thing is a life saver, specially for gamers! The "cord" or "wire" or however you plan to address the blue rod holding your phone up, is amazing. It takes some decent power to get it to bend just a little, and can hold up my Samsung Galaxy s4 with an otterbox no question. It makes it easier to keep your phone from getting dropped, lost or sometimes even found if you forget it's on there :PIt makes easier access to it as well during work, games or hobbies involving a desk/table.The ONLY downside to this beautiful beast is the ball-joint on the clamp that holds the phone itself. With my phone at least, it tends to wiggle and turn, sometimes just go limp and face straight down to the ground. Not the rod, or the entire tool, just the phone will slump down and the screen will be facing straight down due to the weight of the device. That's no help at all.

Works, but not all that great
It's not bad, but definitely not ideal. The blue "cable" connected to the base that holds the phone is fairly stiff and rigid, but it is not strong enough to hold a phone (S5 in my case) steady when the phone is positioned horizontally relative to the location of the base (i.e. stretched/reaching to the side). You pretty much have to position the phone above the base as shown in the product picture, and then it will stay exactly where you want it. Unlike the spring-like claws that securely hold the phone, the base that holds onto the table has a ratcheting/adjustable type of mechanism which allows it to fit a number to different table widths/thicknesses. However, it's NOT infinitely adjustable, and I often find the table is just a hair too narrow for the closest setting. So I have to place a small piece of cardboard between the table and the grippers to make it hold the table tightly. It works, but it could be better.

Great value
Great product especially for the price. It's really easy and comprehensive to use, the only issue is that if you're clicking the button to snap a pic or record a video you may need to give yourselves a few seconds (use a timer if possible) to stop the phone from wobbling a bit (the more stretched out the cord, the more chance of a wobble). Other wise, it works great for one-person photo shoots and those situations in which you need a tripod device but you only have odd angles and surfaces to work with. The clamp is strong and the clip for the phone will fit lots of phones, the only real issue is that if you clamp it in the wrong spot, it might press some of the buttons on the side of your phone. Play around with it and you'll get very fond with it and work out all the nooks and crannies.

Decent product, understand the limitations.
Decent product, does what you want it to do for the most part. The mechanism that secures the base to your table/etc. is a double edged sword. The design makes it very solid on a table on other heavy object with a good sized lip that is parallel to the floor. However, it doesn't secure very well vertically or when you have a curved edge (like a kitchen counter top). As long as you understand the limitations of the system, it works pretty well. The arm is quite stiff, in a good way. The clamp for the phone feels secure & handles my large LG G4 both portrait & landscape orientation with ease. The whole thing does wiggle a bit when you tap the screen, but it's not a deal breaker. Probably best used for watching a video hands-free, as opposed to e-reading or web browsing.
