This was hard to find at the newly opened privately owned large 5-store hardware store
I'm very surprised that a certain larger family-owned hardware store whose name begins with the letter B did not even have this- in fact there wasn't even a bin, tag or shelf-talker for a semi-rigid dryer hose. It makes no sense since that is what the gas company at least in my area of the nation highly recommends. This one I got from Amazon actually cost 15% less than the cheap tin-foil type of dryer hose that that hardware store had- since I had no choice. Then I slapped myself and took a look here. Sure enough... So it was super easy to fit onto my existing solid elbow fittings, as well as the new one I bought to replace the one at the dryer. TIP: If you want it to fit on easily just ream out the new semi-rigid hose with the shaft of a screw driver a little. It works. You just need a fraction of expansion to make it fit over your fittings, then you can tighten up your hose clamps, which you of course slid on FIRST so they'd be ready. As far as pulling/ stretching this new hose out to the length you want; that's no problem either. Just grasp it evenly but firmly so as not to exert force on any one area (but instead apply force equally so as not to risk deforming it even slightly) and gently, slowly and methodically have at it. Works like a charm and this was my first time replacing a dryer hose. It really is an easy peasy lemon squeeezey job. I give 5 stars because it all went to smoothly, and at the same time was a nice value for the money for the quality you're getting. If any professional from the gas company wants to inspect this they are welcome- I'm proud of how tight, neat, clean and perfect it came out.

Solid construction
Sturdier than I expected. Had to use tin snips to remove a section for a second section. Seams to be great quality. Will by again.

What can you say about a dryer vent duct
Works as expected

Excellent, but hard to install in tight spaces
This tube is indeed rugged, and the inside doesn't have accordion folds like a standard foil vent tube. (I imagined that lint might catch in the folds, but when I took off the old tube it was cleaner than the straight pipe it connected to.) . It's so stiff that I couldn't extend it by myself. I needed a partner to pull on the other end. Once extended, it is indeed eight feet long. But if you wanted less, it's hard to re-compress. I probably should have cut off a bit of the extra length, because it was hard to arrange in a tight space where I didn't have full access. . It fit easily over the dryer vent, which was slightly tapered, but I had a hard time sliding it onto the straight tubing of the wall fitting. . This tubing is wonderfully heavy duty and beautifully made. But it may be more rugged than you need. In my case, it turned out that the main blockage was inside the dryer and in the wall vent, but the old flimsy tubing may not have been a problem unless it was kinked. I'd definitely recommend ArmorFlex for use in open spaces, however. In that case, the semi-rigidity would be a big plus.

Very Nice
Works well, took a bit of stretching, but it's a nicer vent now, than had for 50 years.

A basic rigid dryer vent
This rigid dryer vent is fairly thin. You have to be careful not to squish it or indent your fingers into it when extending, but it can be done. It gets the job done and is better than the thin foil types. I have come across several rigids that extend like this one but are of a heavier gauge. It is okay for the price, but I wish the gauge was listed. I would prefer a heavier gauge for the vent. Luckily my application is for an electric dryer, a gas dryer would motivate me to get a heavier gauge to reduce the likely hood of any leaks of exhaust gasses. You have to be careful when pushing the dryer back to not pinch it against the wall. Just plan for that based on your application. In a past install I wrapped cinder blocks in aluminum foil and duck tape. That way I created an 8 inch channel where the dyer and washer couldn’t go and thus squish the dryer vent. In my case I wanted to ensure the washer wouldn't jump back and contact the gas line as well, so two birds with one stone. Washers in my experience tend to move around on there own when in use so ensuring they do not cause any problems is easier done in advance. Last suggestion is if you have a gas line and stainless hoses that come in contact with one another. In my case I used rubberized pipe insulation on the stainless hose to make it so the stainless hose wouldn't saw through the gas line from vibrations. Because gas leaks are no fun.

ok but not perfect, not 8 foot
ok product, but no way will it get to 8 foot the max I can get it to 7 foot 4inches, the ends are cut all wonky so you have to clean that up an up clamp was junk just tightening it.
