New Balance Men's M4040 Metal Mid Baseball Shoe

Needed a wide cleat for my wide (but oh so good looking) feet. New Balance, once thought of as the "old retired man in Florida walking the malls" shoe, is gaining ground among the younger generation as a pretty stylish shoe thanks to some serious NB design upgrades. MLB players now wear this cleat as well. It fits true to size, and is the lightest cleat, and perhaps shoe in general I've ever worn.I'm an older guy who needs as much help with speed on the bases as possible. During a workout, I cut my 40 time by a full second wearing these cleats.I just wore these in a tournament and they held up to expectations. I'll comment as I go along through the next 5 months of baseball to report positives and negatives. If you are looking for a light, comfortable and well fitting cleat, the extra $$ you will spend for these in my humble opinion, at least initially is definitely worth it.UPDATE JULY 30TH 2014:I have now worn these cleats for approximately 145 innings in the field, 75 at bats, 50 or so trips around the bases and I can WITH 100% CERTAINTY state that these cleats are the best pair of shoes I have ever used in 45 years of baseball playing (since I was 7). Absolutely have held up phenomenally and they look now, after all these months and games, like the day I got them.BUY THESE AND FORGET THE NARROW CRAP. Your feet will thank you.

Purchased fot my fourteen year old, he has always worn Nike cleats and was reluctant to give this a try but several of his teammates recommended them so he gave them a try. He absolutely loves them, especially loves the comfort and the fact that they are so light he always mentions the fact that they are si light weight. According to him best pair of cleats he has ever owned, he wishes he tried them sooner

My son really likes these cleats. He said they are the most comfortable pair he's owned - and we've tried all the different brands. It runs true to size and provides a nice cushioned insole. He plays on two different baseball teams and they have held up well. We will be ordering them again with the new baseball season!

The shoe is for my son. It fits him great. I has great support. He loves the style. The cushioning could use a little improvement from a better insole. The rest is outstanding!

New balance cleats are the best! My daughter loves them. She says they are the most comfortable cleats she's ever had. I buy her men's cleats because they have more of of a variety to choose from. Highly recommend these.

I've been playing baseball for 30 years. These are the most comfortable cleats ever. New Balance hit a home run with these. I would recommend these to anyone. $99 might be a little expensive for some, but definitely worth the money. I will be buying a molded pair for softball.

My son has used Nike, Under Armour, Boomba cleats before.These NB are easily the most comfortable cleats he am has ever worn!Look at local recball...travelball...HS...college..and even in the MLB! More elite players are wearing NB cleats for the same reason. ..they are comfortable and they out perform all other cleats!

The first game my daughter wore these cleats they ripped on top. Granted she is a catcher and was making a play and got cleated making a hole on top. She loves the shoes but was very disappointed with the first time wearing them and they get tore up.

J'avais besoin d'une paire de spike (crampons metalliques) pour mon nouveau sport favori le Baseball, pratiquer en France bien sur (j'ai 31 ans) !Elle sont très correctes pour le prix, pas grand chose à dire. Je donne néanmoins 3 sur 5 car la languette redescend souvent dans la chaussure, il faut penser a bien utiliser les trous pour les lacets, aussi au niveau de la taille ne pas hesiter a prendre la pointure ou demi pointure au dessus ça chausse un peu étroit au bout du pied mais globalement après une saison j'en suis satisfait et mes pieds ne sont pas abimés !! Evidemment si vous les portez toute la journée, les crampons commence a se faire sentir sous le pied mais c'est pareil pour tout les chaussures dans le genre sinon il vous reste les moulés (crampons)
