Worth the training
I'm puppy training and heard about these via a telly programme, my boyfriend was doubtful. The bells are actually quite large so are loud enough to hear in another room. I used a mini stick on picture hook on our back door, everytime puppy looked like he wanted to go out I got him to paw the bells and as I opened the door I praised him, about a hour after his mini training session I settled down in front of the telly, in the background I heard some bells! Dashed to the door and there is puppy looking at the door.... So proud and now I don't have to have the back door open all the time.. Make sure you get puppy to 'paw' the bells and not nudge with his nose, as the sound needs to be loud enough to hear in another room.

Life saver!!
These bells have worked amazing for me and my mini schnauzer puppy. We were losing hope at getting him house trained - he would happily do his business when we took him outside but he wasn't telling us when he needed to go out and having accidents in the house. We hung these on our back door and within a day he was ringing the bells when he needed to go out. Since that day we have not had an accident in the house for two months and counting! The only thing is, he now knows that if he rings the bells he gets to go in the garden and dig in the plant pots!

Very useful it really works
I got this for my parents 4 month old puppy who hadn't been house trained at all before. After a few weeks she started ringing the bells herself. Mostly so she could play in the garden:-) I think it was sometimes annoying for my parents when they had to take her out 4 times an hour when they were watching tv and she just wanted to run around lol. I was impressed how quickly the puppy got the hang of it. Apparently now how frantically she rings the bells relates to how desperate she is to go outside. I would recommend this item but think it is a bit overpriced as you could easily make one for a few quid using a dog lead and bells

Best Purchase Ever!!!
One of the best things we have ever bought. We live in a flat and therefore have only one door and could not see when our puppy needed to go out. We put it on the handle of the living room door and he very quickly got the hang of using the bells when he wanted out. We have taken it when we have stayed away from home. It stopped the number of accidents immediately and I would recommend it to anyone toilet training a dog.

BRILLIANT ITEM
I purchased this Poochiebell for my new Puppy a Boston Terrier she was 9 weeks old and I had read that they could be a little difficult to toilet train however a couple of weeks after ringing it every time we took her out to toilet she started to occasionally ring it herself now she is 16 weeks old and rings it EVERY TIME she needs to toilet we are so pleased toilet training has been a breeze with this and I would defiantly recommend without hesitation.

24hrs and 100% success!
These are fabulous!! Our 10mth old cockapoo took to these within 24hrs of me taping his foot on them to show him every time I let him out. He chose to switch that to his nose but he rings them EVERY time without fail still 5mths on! We actually brought another set for my parents house too.The only downside is that Bertie now rings them if his dinner is late/he wants to go out on the trampoline/wants a treat đđ #servicebell

Please DO NOT leave this item with your dog unsupervised ...
Please DO NOT leave this item with your dog unsupervised! DO NOT HANG FROM A PUPPY PEN!My puppy caught his claw in the gap on the bell and was squealing and hanging from the bell but luckily I was immediately to hand to release him. Not fit for purpose and dangerous to animals as the gap in the bells is too large.

This arrived really quickly & is proving to be a success. The bells are much bigger than I expected as I thought it would be more like the bells on a cat collar but they are more like an inch or so across. I did wonder how I would hear it in another room but them being bigger answered that question!

Fun and attractive
Nice bells and good quality. Don't sound as loud as I had hoped. Hoping the dog with learn to ring them.

CAUTION, DOGS NAILS CAN GET CAUGHT IN BELLS
Our puppy started using these, but about a week into It I noticed she got her nail stuck in the bell. This set us back MONTHS as she would no longer touch or go near the bells. If you're going to use these, be sure to size up your dog'snails, and if you think they might fit into the holes in the side of the bells, you should cover the holes with tape.Nothing will stop your dog from using these faster than if they get a paw caught, or worse, a nail ripped out.Given that these are designed for dogs, and puppies, I see this as a product flaw and am giving it one star -they should have used smaller bells at the bottom, or ordered custom bells with smaller holes.I love the idea, but the execution is pretty much inexcusable given that the target market for these is likely puppies in training, meaning even larger adult breeds will have smaller nails as puppies and this product could cause harm to them and set you back in training them to go outside.

Nice, Big Bells
I have trained my dog with bells at the door for many years, but I had used a ribbon I put bells on. My ribbon was effective, but too quiet. This product comes with nice large bells that are easy to hear. I am pleased with the quality of the sewing also. If you are training your dog with bells, you need to take your dog outside at regular intervals and show the dog that they can ring the bell first, then give a treat so that they know Bells=Rewards. My dog took about a week to learn and now she is loving the fact she can get our attention to take her out when she needs to.

Great Idea!!! Allows dogs to communicate easily.
I love this product! My dog used to sit by the door and wait patiently for someone to see her and let her out. No barking⊠no whining... no scratching⊠sheâd just sit and wait. I recently got a new puppy and decided to use this to avoid my previous problem. My puppy picked up on the idea within a few days, and she now rings the bells whenever she wants to go out. Unfortunately, she also rings when she wants to go out to play, but itâs easy to tell when sheâs serious and when sheâs âtrickingâ us based on timing or her body language. Some reviewers mentioned that the bells weren't loud enough, but I don't have that problem. I can hear the bells from everywhere in my house. My puppy usually rings them lightly at first, but if we don't let her out immediately, she rings them again, louder and longer. The only downside is that the bells ring whenever the door is opened, which is inconvenient late at night or early in the morning when people are sleeping. I might hang the bells on a hook next to the door to avoid that happening.

Perfect for small dogs to reach any door!
If you are thinking of teaching your dog (or new puppy) to ring a bell to go outside, these are a must have. These easily hang from any door and are reachable by any size dog - our puppies were only 3 lbs when we started training them (now 10 lbs), and they were able to nose / paw at them to signal that they wanted to go outside. In fact, they like using it to signal the water bowl is empty, that they are hungry, that there is a bird outside that they want to bark at - it is a pretty neat communication tool! You can look it up on youtube as to how to teach a dog to ring a bell - it just takes some patience. You hold the bells in front of them, tell them bell, and wait for them to bonk it, whatever method they prefer. The first bonk is the hardest - once they do it, you give them a treat, and then they will definitely repeat it. You keep treating them, and eventually they understand "bell" = ringing the bell = yummy treats. Then step 2 is hanging it on the door, and before you let them go out to potty, you tell them "bell" - make them ring the bell to go outside, and that is their treat. Once they become more potty trained, they will ring the bell proactively to go out!

Skeptical but it worked!
I was really skeptical about these bells. I mean paying $16.00 for bells, but hey, I wanted my dog to pee outside not inside, it was worth a try and boy am I glad I did. I didnât have my dog touch the bells with his nose or paws or anything. I just took a command hook, hung out right next to the door we use to go potty, and left it there. Every time we took him out to go potty, we would say âgo pottyâ, ring the bell, and take him out and say âgo pottyâ again. He eventually (2 ish weeks) figured out to ring the bell to be let out. However, he started trolling us by thinking ringing bell means go outside. Well, to fix this, we gave him three minutes to do something. If he did something, then we would give him more time to sniff and walk around the yard. If he didnât do anything, we went straight back into the house. Then he started trolling us again after he figured that out to ring the bell, pee like two drops and then gets to play. No no no. So now we put him on a schedule. Same schedule every day. If he really needs to pee like after long walk or playing inside, he uses the bells to go out.Great product and it will work! Your dog is smart!

These are so great
My mom wanted some new ones because I took mine with me when I moved out (my dogs passed years ago so they actually hang near their urn). She went looking but was disappointed with the quality of what she was seeing because only these are the best! They are well-made, come in great colors and patterns and the bells sound nice. Also, they are made locally which is awesome. Do they cost more than others? Yes. And they are worth every penny.

my dog learned to use it quickly
I got this I think about 3 weeks ago. I bought it because I got a new dog and was having a hard time telling when she needed to go out or if she was just snooping around. I hung it on the door and every time I put the dogs out I would pull it forward and gently touch it on her nose and say "touch it". When I was lazy like in the middle of the night I would just ring it myself then open the door. I started touching it on her nose a little harder so it would ring. After I think about a week she rang it a couple of times, those first couple I am not sure if it was an accident or not. After about 2 weeks she was using it when she wanted out. Now she is so good at it she used it the other night to trick me into going and opening the door so she could steal my spot on the couch. Now I am going to make sure I put her out every time she rings it so she won't try to trick me.I think some dogs it may take a bit longer to learn how to use. I think if my other dog needed it he would have taken longer. But my new dog is pretty sharp, a shepherd mix (potcake).

Love the made in the USA bells!!!!!
We have 4 dogs and 2 cats! Most of them use the poochie bells whenever they need to go outside. (Yes, one of the cats does use them). Both of our Goldendoodles were taught to use them at boot camp and continued to use them when they came home! I love that THESE bells are made in USA! High quality and great looking!!! I highly recommend them!!! It was easy to train the older dogs, as well!

My dog trained us.
When my Havanese puppy was 7 months old it was Christmas time and we had little Christmas decorations that hang on the doorknobs and had bells on them. My dog figured out quickly that they made a sound when the door was opened. The first day she would go over and bat at the bells and every time she did that we would open the door to let her out. Within about two days she had trained us. She would bat the bells once then sit down and stare at us until we came over and let her out. After Christmas we bought a set of these bells so she could continue to let us know she had to go out and because they have a louder sound than the Christmas decorations did. We have since moved and we need an extra set of bells to hang on another door she is allowed to go out of as well. The cutest thing is that when she urgently needs to go outside to potty or due to her spying her puppy friends out for a walk, etc. she will bat these bells with such urgency. And other times when she is just bored and wants to go outside or if she sees we are getting ready to leave but are moving to slowly for her liking she will bat the bells once and then wait a few minutes to see if we are coming before batting the bells once again. My puppy will be three this year and there is no wear and tear on the ribbon or damage to the bells. These are really sturdily made.

These are awesome!
We bought these bells prior to bringing home our 8 week golden retriever puppy. When we brought her home, we showed her how to ring the bells when she had to go out and she started using them almost immediately. She was literally house broken within 2 days!!! The bells have been abused by her swinging from them and chewing on them during her puppy moments but they have taken her abuse beautifully and still look great. I highly recommend these for anyone getting a puppy!Update: 11/30/14: We have had our puppy for a year now and we still keep the bells on the door so she can let us know that she needs to go out. Sometimes, she asks to go out more often than we want to get up (every 5 minutes for example) and so we will ignore her. She will get mad at us and chew on the bells and wack them wildly with her paw. Seeing as though she has chewed through almost every toy that she has ever received, I cannot believe that these bells are still in great condition. They are very good quality and worth the money that I spent on them.

Reasonable Bells With Pet Designs
These are nice bells. The quality is fair. The bells are attached well (so far), and the lower set of bells are low enough for a puppy to reach. The training I've read is very clear: You want your dog to touch the bells with his/her NOSE, not reaching up with a paw. Don't take your dog's paw and reach for the bells. Too confusing. When your dog taps the bells, open the door. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. I am disappointed that the material is like a ribbon. I was expecting more of a canvass-type, stronger material for the price I paid. But, I rounded up to 4 stars because I liked the designs...I have to look at this on my door everyday. Plain brown or black wasn't going to do it for me.
