it has worked great for what I needed
I needed a staple gun to repair a cat tree on which the rope was falling off due to being scratched a lot. Obviously that's normal, but I wanted to just rewrap the rope instead of buying a whole new cat tree.Operating this staple gun took a bit of getting used to, so that the staples would go in flush instead of one side being deeper than the other. Holding it perfectly centered and applying even pressure is essential to making this work properly. It helps to use both hands.Outside of the learning curve, it has worked great for what I needed. It is possible that the seller of this product has provided the product at a discount or for free in return for a thoroughand truthful review. much better than light duty
I bought this for work around the house such as stapling vapor barrier to studs and stapling painting canvas to frames. I chose this over the heavy duty models due to the smaller size so it can fit into tighter places, as well as requiring less hand pressure to operate. The staple gun itself is model TR45 and TR45K is the item name for the entire kit. This staple gun is conservatively called 'light duty'. Other than the black plastic top cap, it seems to be all-steel construction. It drives staples flush into most woods including plywood (but not hardwoods) - if you press down on the black top plate with your other hand to avoid kickback. I've never had it jam on me yet. You can buy staples for this model in 3 lengths, 6mm is included in this kit. A small 'window' opening on the bottom front shows you when you're low on staples.A few negatives: despite being 'light duty' it still requires quite a bit of hand strength to operate and doesn't drive the staple until the handle is squeezed all the way down. It should be ok for most people except those with weak hands. The palm of your hand sometimes gets painfully pinched between the handle and the black top plate. But overall amazing build quality and performance for under $10. I would still be very happy with it if I paid 2x as much. I expect it to last years or decades for my medium-duty household use.

The Little Staple Gun That Could
Yes, this little staple gun is as good as everyone else says it is!I was starting a new project (wrapping 80 canvases around pine wood stretcher bars) so I needed a staple gun. I went to a local hardware store and first purchased an electric Bostitch. However, it couldn't keep the staples straight, nor shoot them in all the way. Following up each staple with a hammer is not very efficient.I then purchased an Arrow ETFX50 electric stapler (without first checking Amazon since I was buying locally and needed a stapler "now"). What a piece of garbage. It would fire 2-3 staples, then jam. I would need to disassemble, remove jam, reassemble, fire 2-3 staples, jam, repeat. Obviously, I wasn't being very productive - and becoming very frustrated.I then came to Amazon to find a stapler and found people having identical problems with the Arrows and other manufacturers. After digging around, I came across this Stanley TR45K Light Duty Staple Gun Kit. Not sure it would do the job, I was skeptical. However, after reading the reviews from others who were doing similar projects (stapling canvas to pine stretcher bars), I was swayed - so I ordered. Unit arrived today and the best decision I've made in a long time.Yes, this is thee little staple gun that could! Very easy to load, easy to squeeze, and lightweight. Surprisingly, the staples sunk perfectly in the wood - no hammer required. After shooting through two complete bars of staples, I didn't have a single misfire or jam.It seems harder and harder these days to find quality products and tools. This Stanley delivers, and all for under $15! And to top it off, this kit comes with a box of staples, and a soft-shelled black carry case to boot!Thank you Stanley!
