Cheap ink to feed your international cartridge pens. Great, just not the green.
Cheap ink to feed your international cartridge pens. I've been using these with the low budget Lamy Safari knockoffs (The 8 PCS Jinhao 599 Fountain Pens Diversity Set Transparent and Unique Style ). These ink cartridges are easy on the wallet and perform very well for day to day use.Pros:- Cheap and Effective, you get quite a selection in the multi-pack- Fairly smear resistant, even shortly after writing - much of this can depend on the pen you pair it with.Cons:- Green isn't very pleasant, as others have mentioned it's almost like a highlighter style ink. I've used it for notes and it's far too bright and flourescent for day to day note taking. You might find your own application for it. It's a vibrant green, just not my style- The cartridges take a good bit of firm pressure to puncture in the Jinhaos, other reviewers seem to have the same experience.- Light feathering on some types of paper, but not distracting - only noticeable when viewing closely.Overall:I've enjoyed these inks as a budget entry into feeding the 599s that I've picked up. If you're looking at this ink, you likely already have fountain pens or are just entering into them. Be sure to check out the FP subreddit: (/r/fountainpens), it's a great community to get you started. My personal go-to inks from this set are the typical office appropriate inks - blue, black, dark-blue (blue-black), and red. I'd reccomend the ink for budget use, backups, or starter packs.

Smooth, steady light pressure ink flow.
Beautiful, smooth flowing lovely color. It seems they hold more ink or last a bit longer than the "thorton" brand of assorted color pack. i also bought to try. (The thorton's stop and start in flow somehow, and do not last for as many pages of writing. I will definitely purchase THESE again over the Thorton assorted color. I also like the slimmer tip that tapers out to the length. This loads and clicks into place smoothly and with less "force" than required in other brand cartridges. I am brand new to calligraphy, and really was becoming frusterated with learning using the Thorton brand. Upon switching to these, the flow was remarkably different, enabling a smooth steady writing flow with much lighter pressure to the "nib" and making my learning experience much less frusterating. I guess all inks are NOT related equal? Lol.

Good, except for the green
The red, purple, brown and blues are likely to please most users and these colors look similar to most mainstream ink products, such as Scheaffer and Waterman etc...Beware the green. It is a sort of yellow-lime neon green. It looks like the ink in the light green highlighters you would buy at Staples. This ink would work if you are underlining or highlighting or check marking some pages, but I honestly can not imagine anyone reading a page, or even a sentence, written in this ink. It is not anywhere like what you normally get when you buy green fountain pen ink.The rest is good to go and flows well. One other note: Puncture the cartridge with something before you place it in the pen, if possible. The cartridges I got have so far been difficult to puncture and if you put them in the pen at an off angle and push really hard you might break the little feed channel on the end of the feed that sticks into the cartridge. Then the pen would not work. I took a paper clip, straightened one end, and used it to puncture the cartridge a bit before I stuck it into the section of the pen. YMMV on this aspect. But overall good ink and very affordable.

Average ink, just be sure it will fit your pen.
I purchased this set with the intention of having one fountain pen for each color so that I could switch as needed. I intend to use them with 8 PCS Jinhao 599 Fountain Pens Diversity Set Transparent and Unique Style) this set of Jinhao pens, which the cartridges fit just fine. Since that set didn't include a purple pen, I also bought this pen by Hero Classic Fine Nib Fountain Pen Purple . I bring this up because I want to warn anyone wanting to use these cartridges with the Hero pen. These cartridges are smaller (I'd estimate maybe about 10% smaller in size) than the Hero uses, although I did not know that until I tried to use the purple cartridge in that pen earlier today. So for anyone who, like me, is new to fountain pens, I wanted to warn you that these do not work with Hero pens. That said, if you have one of those cartridge adapters for your pen, you can (very, very carefully) pour the ink from one of these into that and use it that way. Just be warned that unless you come up with a way to do that that's better than the way I did, you'll probably end up with your fingertips stained from the ink. You can get most of it into the adapter, though, so the real issue is the mess from the transference. Given the hassle of doing that, though, it's probably best to just buy bottled ink at that point. Now onto the ink itself. It's very pigmented and flows well from the pen -- almost too well, as I've experienced it depositing too much ink onto the paper and some of it bleeding through to the other side. The edges of the letters also bleed a little so that the line doesn't remain clean. On the other hand, once its dry it's not going anywhere. I've washed my hands several times and even tried using Purell on them hoping the alcohol inside it might help, and the stains from the aforementioned adapter incident haven't so much as budged. If you need your ink to last, this will definitely do that for you! I like the variety of colors, though I don't really have a use for two different versions of blue ink given that the included shades aren't very different from each other. If you're using your pen to do something formal or professional, where you need it to look classy, I probably wouldn't recommend these cartridges. The bleeding, both at the edges of your lines and through the other side of the paper, doesn't produce a professional, quality look. Also, if you got any on your hands, looking professional is pretty much off the table at that point since it's proving (so far, anyway) impossible to wash off. However, if you're using this for something like a personal diary or informal written correspondence, these are a much better fit for that price point. It'll definitely last should your descendants ever want to read your personal writings! And above all else, make sure your pen takes international size cartridges so you don't end up with purple fingers like mine!

Works great with Jinhao fountain pen
I got these in 2019, and it worked great--easy to install in Jinhao fountain pen, with good/vibrant colors. Green was a bit lighter than I expected. The rest of the colors were solid. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it didn't dry out and still worked almost 3 years later--found one of the packets in the back of the drawer 2.5 years later, installed into the pen and it wrote beautifully.
