Dean Ween's favorite album, high quality reissue

One of those great albums that sound like what the cover looks like!
Yes, these guys are more known for their song "Ocean Man" because of the meme that went around than their actual music. Though wherever it is that you hail from, whether from a generic meme, or from Spongebob, or whatever, I am happy that more people are discovering Ween. Ween is a band that needs more exposure and this is the masterpiece that I thought would've been enough to get them a wider audience, but clearly that's not the case. So any exposure, whether through a meme or not, is helpful to spread the greatness that is Ween.Though some might be turned off by what some would consider "cheesy" lyrics and musical compositions, the obvious being, "I'm Dancing in the Show Tonight", though don't think too deep into it. Thing is, this is an album that you put on as you lay down, stare at the ceiling, (or close your eyes, whatever you prefer...) and let the music take you on a journey, rather than placing shallow expectations on it.It goes back and forth between absolutely hilarious and absurd to beautiful and majestic, and it works. Not once does the album overreach or underwhelm. Not extremely hard to get into, but challenging enough that it'll broaden your musical tastes if you let it.If you enjoy bands that experiment between styles, do not pass over Ween, let alone this album. This might be predictable to point out, but this IS their best album, no doubt.

The Mollusk
Since this is one of the greatest albums of all time you don’t need the music itself reviewed. You just want the details on the condition etc.well, I’ll be your Johnny on the spot. The album was in perfect condition. A nautical cover in psychedelic blue and Buckingham green. The album cover was without bent edges or mutilated lips. It played without skips or pops. It’s gunna be alright .It was sold out but I ordered it in hopes that it would not be too long. But since the virus gave me pink eye on my leg and gave me the golden eel and a polka dot tail I knew it wouldn’t be long until I was dancing in the show tonight.I saw it going for higher prices elsewhere but I wasn’t waving my dick in the wind.. I bought it. It arrived at my doorstep a couple days back and it’s been spinning on the record player ever since. My dog loves it but she wanted to leave for the ocean, man.The Mollusk ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Incredible album with a vinyl pressing that played excellently for me
I am an avid Ween fan and The Mollusk is my favorite album of all time, which is why I was very conflicted about buying this LP since I'd seen the negative feedback saying that the pressing was of poor quality. However I'm happy to report that I experienced no such thing. Right out of the packaging there are no skips and I could only hear background noise very faintly in-between tracks. I must disclose that I am speaking as someone who's relatively new to vinyl, but this record plays as well or better than any brand new record I've bought. Perhaps I'm not versed enough in vinyl to speak authoritatively on the quality of the record, but as someone who listens to this album almost daily in digital format I can say that it's totally satisfactory on vinyl. I'm not discounting what others have said about their experiences, (anyone vinyl enthusiast knows that buying records is often a crapshoot) but my experience was wonderful. The only even slightly negative feedback I have is that the record itself isn't quite as beautiful as it looks in the thumbnail (it's a lighter green than it appears to be in the featured photo), but it's still very aesthetically appealing to have a green record, and the marbling is quite nice.tl;dr: The records plays well and looks great - if you love this album I would highly recommend the vinyl format.

Great album, bad pressing (Plain Recordings Pressing)
The Mollusk is a fantastic album. However, this pressing was a letdown. The one I am talking about is the 2009 180 gram reissue by Plain Recordings. There are noticeable pops and crackles throughout the whole album even though it was a sealed brand new vinyl. I have an anti static acrylic record platter and I even tried using anti static cleaner, but the pops and crackles still persist. I suppose it’s still listenable, but it definitely affects my enjoyment of the album. I’m mostly just keeping this pressing for the album artwork. Unfortunately the only good pressing of this album was a UK pressing from 1997, so even if you can manage to track one down it will be expensive. We really need proper reissues of all of Ween’s albums!

I loved the vinyl pressing?!
I read a lot of reviews criticizing the quality of the vinyl pressing, but decided to purchase anyways. I got the 180 gram version and it seems I lucked out. First of all, this is one of my favorite albums, and have had countless listens. The vinyl version sounded amazing on my system and I have equipment that isn't the most forgiving. Maybe I got lucky, but I'd say if you are a ween fan like me, and want a great sounding physical copy, don't count it out. Bring forth the Mollusk and cast unto thee.

Instant Classic.
Ween is one of those bands that once you listen to one single song, you get sucked in. They put out some of the most creative/experimental music known to man, while maintaining an identity. The Mollusk is no exception to this tradition. This album is themed around the ocean, with most of the songs being written on a beach house in New Jersey. From pirates in a bar (The Blarney Stone), to steampunk thrillers (Buckingham Green), Ween nailed every track, giving off a feeling of pride and joy in their work. This album rivals many of the classics in terms of quality, depth, and fun. This album can easily stand toe to toe with something like The Dark Side of the Moon (who also designed this albums cover). If you want a solid introduction to Ween, start here.

It's a CD
Well obviously music taste is subjective (and I love this album), so I'll talk in terms of quality of the service/disc. Arrived in good time and wasn't scratched or damaged in any way.
