Perfect for 2012 xterra
I have always loved the look of this rack on xterras and finally bought one once I needed extra storage space. I really wish I would have ordered the cargo net at the same time but glad I didn't order the locks (I feel pretty confident it wont get stolen knock on wood). Since I didn't have the net in time I did not end up using the rack for what I intended for because the bungees I had just didn't make me feel comfortable. Putting the rack together in the warm house was a breeze. It is very simple and just needed 4 screws. However once I was ready to install it on the actual car is another story. It was not my smartest decision to buy and install this thing in the heart of winter. Keep in mind you will lose the ability to park in the garage if you have a taller car like mine already is, so it had to be installed outside. The directions are absolutely useless for showing you how to actually put it on your car. I had to watch a youtube video and look up pictures online to what should have been the simplest thing ever. Once I figured it out it was a very easy process and lining it up in the center (front and sides) took longer than tightening it to my crossbars. It is well built and the hardware that holds it on is very well designed and made. The wind noise is not an issue, maybe 5% louder than it already was. I avoid parking garages like the plague since I haven't measured the true height yet. Worth the extra money for sure, I was comparing to the curt but the reviews on rust dripping lost me. My Yakima rack has been thru 2 snow melts and a few rainstorms and still looks brand new. One more feature I like is that the wind fairing in front folds down to accmmodate things such as long lumber.

Great rack!! Make sure to GET THE LOCK!!!
This rack was made with excellent craftsmanship and quality. I also got the extension that came with the accessory bar. I waited until I received the extension before I put the whole rack together. At first I thought it didn't come with the farer or a couple screws but then realized the farer had slipped out and was hidden in the box. Also the screws were pre screwed into the rack itself. I used this to drive 7 hrs to move to a new state. It worked beautifully and looked amazing on my truck. Unfortunately a few weeks after I moved to my new city someone stole the entire rack from off my truck in the middle of the night! This was my fault because I didn't buy the $70 Yakima lock (which is a very simple device) because they didn't sell them on Amazon and they were out of stock (still are as of writing this) on their website. It was a bummer but a learning lesson as well. Don't make the same mistake I did! Yakima makes great products (although their customer service could use a bit of sunshine lol!)! Not their fault but I wish they included the lock with the cargo rack for customers. I liked the rack so much that I am going to buy it again with the extension PLUS lock very soon.

Amazing Basket!
Great great rack, I purchased this rack a week ago, haven't gotten a chance to use it yet, but it is mounted to my 03 Jeep Liberty, fits it perfectly, rides right behind the sun roof and man is it quite, haven't hauled anything around in it yet, will do that when i move down to Georgia next week. I drove close to 300 miles with it on, on the freeway doing 75, not a sound, and didn't see any reduced gas mileage, I'm sure both will come next week. Sturdy construction, putting it together and mounting it was a snap, just follow the included documents and you can't go wrong. I have all yakima hardware, the lowrider towers, and 58" crossbars, along with a powderhound, they are all great products, sturdy construction, and the powdercoat is nice and thick and can take a beating, yakima makes a good product, you really cant go wrong with this basket if you don't mind the noise increase and slight drop in gas mileage. Definitely recommend!

Solid equipment, Easy to install.
Got it for a trip from Pitt to Chicago, wanted to give my pup more room. I also got a bag to protect the luggage against the weather. This was places on OEM cross rails of my 2017 Subaru Forester XT. I went up to 82mph but mostly stayed around 75mph. The road nose was high with the bag on the way out. However, on my way back I tied it down and made it more aerodynamic and road noise was hardly noticeable. I recommend it! The plastic screws did give me some uneasy feeling and it sits pretty high compared to others. But it looks really good on my Subie and was stable on the freeway.

Works great, seems durable
The LoadWarrior looks great on my car and, more importantly, seems really well made. Assembly/installation wasn't difficult, but the powder coating made it difficult to fit the two basket sections together. I'm taking away a star because I had to alternate tapping each side with a dead blow hammer to get it to slide together far enough to get the screws in, which left marks in the finish. For a product as high-end (and expensive) as Yakima, that was disappointing. I'd have expected it from a knockoff, but a genuine rack shouldn't have that issue. I've used it to bring a Kayak home from the next town over where I bought it, as well as to take it out to the state park and back and I've had no issues. I did add foam pipe insulation to the front and rear bars of the rack to avoid putting too much pressure on the kayak and it works really well for transporting it without a J-Cradle attachment. I also added a bike lock holding it to my crossbars, because it doesn't come with a locking mechanism and can be removed without tools. Handy for taking it off/putting it back on easily if needed, but does make it an easier target for theft, so I definitely recommend getting a steel cable lock as a deterrent.
