Paperback construction not durable enough for a four-year-old
Who Loves the Farm?My wife and I bought this book for our three grandchildren, and expected a well-made book. It was a softcover book, stapled together, and from the first reading by our four year-old granddaughter, it was already ripping. We have now, to our dismay, discovered that the book is available from a source other than Amazon, in Hardcover, for only $2.00 more. The book for which we paid $12.99, plus shipping, should not have been sold for more than half that price, based on its construction. Personally, I think Amazon should replace it with a hardcover copy, but I don't suppose that will happen. As it is, a book we had hoped our grandchildren would read and enjoy for years, as they have other books, will likely be thrown away soon because it will have fallen apart. The shame is that the story itself, while short by such book standards, and for it's high cost, is well done, and gives urban children some appreciation of farm life. Sadly, it won't survive long enough for the message to be read and enjoyed multiple times.

Who Loves the Farm?
This book is delightful for young children, as evidenced by my three year old grand-angel's reaction when I read it to her. The book lends itself well to the reader, using creativity with the sounds and actions of each "character" for the pre-reader/early reader. As a nature lover and "farm lover" myself, the additional value of this book is that it will, hopefully, contribute to keeping alive the legacy of the family farm. The family farm, which is being replaced by agribusiness, constitutes a valuable cornerstone to the history of our culture and society. Dr. Pat Covalt - Psychotherapist, Author, Speaker
