Several years ago I converted to acrylic paints due to the fumes enamels produce and haven’t looked back…till now. There are just some techniques you just can’t quite duplicate with acrylics over enamels. Some washes just don’t have the same color depth or color shift that enamels do, I had been using enamels for over 60 years so I know my way around enamels. So I bought this set to use as base coats as well as thinned for washes. Back in business… I have always liked testers enamels including their model master paints. Now with this set I can have the best of both worlds.

Once I mastered setting it up, it works flawlessly! If you have an iPhone or Android phone, definitely get the iOptron polar finder app. This greatly decreases the setup time as it shows you exactly where to position Polaris in the finder. This will save you much frustration in trying to set the SkyTracker up. I let it go for 30 minutes once I got it set property with the app and it was still spot on!!I was able to use my 150mm telephoto lens to capture the Great Orion Nebula for several minutes! The stars were pinpoint sharp! The previous tracker I used could not do this with a telephoto lens. My next challenge is to try it with my 400mm lens!

The box of paints are exactly what I was needing. My son and I are putting together a detailed bomber plane. This box had a lot of the colors we will be putting them to use asap. The other colors I have no doubt we will use eventually, like sky blue. oh and i didnt know prior to receiving it but it came with a paint thinner!! Great value, came package nicely and arrived sooner than expected. I could not be happier with this purchase! Thank you!

Got a good deal w/these, I think. I use oil paints for many odds/ends projects, none of which involves models; but, if you appreciate the brilliance of color that only oil based paints can give, even w/flat finish, you'll want these. Comes w/thinner, cheap brush and plastic tray. The thinner I use as cleaner,I would NOT recommend the brush if you want a nice finish. Oil paints require time/patience for the best results. The tray was a nice little bonus, as it's fits perfectly in one of my very common plastic bin drawers.

This set will fit the needs of most hobby builders making military models. For a few dollars more, I would suggest adding the nontoxic acrylic military paint set to your order. The colors are slightly different between the sets with the acrylic being more dull and earthy. Set comes with a brush and bottle of paint thinner. You also may want the gloss enamel paint set too. If you're looking for specific military colors, like WWII German Army, you can search Amazon and find the correct colors. Otherwise, you may have to do some mixing of paints to get that correct hue.
