Does this come with the backing plate and nut?

No backing plate or nut included. Just the disc as seen in the pictures

Is there a specific rpm it should be used at ?

Most people just us this on their 4.5" angle grinder which don't typically have speed control. The ideal RPM is probably lower than that, but is you are careful to not build up to much heat the 4.5" angle grinders work well. 10-12k is the typical RPM advertised by grinders. Thanks, Pat

How to use shrinking disc

The disk works on the principle Of heating the high spot(s) by friction. Imagine waves on a lake from wind. Light or heavy. When the disk is in contact with the high spots it heats them up ONLY! But you have to keep the disk moving around. Just a short time. Say 30-40 seconds. Then move it away and cool the high area with a wet rag or a spray bottle of water. This causes the high area to contract. Repeat the process until the area is back flat or at the needed contour. DO NOT Place the disk on wet metal!! Only use it on CLEAN metal surfaces! If you over shrink it bump it back high and do it again. The disk isn’t like a torch. As it only heats fb the high spots. A torch heats the high and lows and over use of hammer and dolly’s Will only creat metal fatigue. Wear gloves and hearing protection.
